This video made me realize some extremely crucial things. First of all - I absolutely adore how much you shit on Unison Audio for their marketing campaign, advertising basic utilities as game-changers. What I love the most though is the fact that you don't do it straight up - you use words and gestures that we instantenously recognize and link to them. Thank you for that. Now to get a bit more personal - With these videos you simply re-ignite my love and passion to music making. You make it look so simple, and to top it all off, you rub my taste the right way with your creations. I cannot tell you how much your works inspire me. Thank you for that as well. There are movies so good that they remind you why you love watching movies. You are the creator that reminds me why I love creating music.

1 - “Pro-Level” will never be not funny 😁 2 - As I recall, the Baltic Strings were sourced from the Estonian Philharmonic Orchestra (or one of that crowd), which has often been the definitive performance ensemble for Arvo Pärt’s compositions. Another guy who has made more with less 😉 3 - I’ve thinking a lot about arrangement in general for years to where I probably should write my own treatise on the subject, much like how Ravel and Schoenberg did. =]

Soundwise you won't find a better, more realistic, versatile and musical free piano plugin than OT P1ANO S. Just ask Google, it's easily found.

This is a great example of how music can create emotion while being 100% forgettable.

You might like to try Soundpaint. It has a very intuitive way of building instruments with noises.

Forever one of my favorites. Captain Eos Voyage, A Real Diamond In The Rough, and Electric Sea are also great - need to catch up on Buckethead someday but he has such an insane catalog anymore it's impossible to keep up haha.

AS you aired the first MOPRH video, you mentioned you'd be posting more in the future. Given your talents as a teacher, I'd sure be trilled to see more Sensel Morph content! I took your advice, looked harder and landed a MORPH. Thus far, despite adjustments I make in the latest version Sensel APP, I cannot seem to hold a finger still enough to maintain a constant tone (piano overlay). In other words, it's like I've got my pitch bend wheel working overtime. Additionally, a gliss of say, a fifth, sounds like I've slid 4 octaves, along with few harmonics of the original patch sound as I arrive at the landing key. I've had a panic attack or two, wherein I second guessed myself for not buying a short seaboard. Thanks!

I just love what you did here - and always! I was thinking - how about melodic "tracing". So, in addition to all of this wonderful advice - might you also trce the contour of some of the notes that evolve from the textures to create a melodic idea that floats throughout this score? (almost reverse engineering the melody). When listen to the final product I hear that melody. Something subtle but that can then be used as a device to further the narrative I also understand that that is not always necessary if needed. As I said - I so much enjoy your thoughts. Your music is quite sensitive.

8:20 - *sudden goosebumps* I wish I had your ability to just spit out a musical idea instead of fumbling with a keyboard labeled with stickers and squinting at a chord diagram for hours to make a serviceable 10 seconds. I've been teaching myself ukulele for about a year and change and I can sort of intuit a mood on that but as far as I'm aware they haven't yet invented the MIDI uke lol.

I feel more with point1 and 2, point3 didn’t work for me, probably because that many different timbres need more room/time than the short video had. By the way: thanks for adding better note visualizations / chord names👍. That helps following the theory.

SINE Player also have some beaautiful free libraries as well , btw I'll try to work on that I thought that music theory was so important that I had to learn some scales ecc. in order to achieve or put my music on another level but it's not so necessary as you already explained , thank you!

I really like simple explanations without too much technical stuff. I am running Studio One Professional on a MacBook and wonder if there is a video player that could be layered on top of that to aid in the production of theme music. I'll have to investigate these Orchestral tools to see if it is Mac compatible. I'm relatively new to this software music production technique.

I still had a lingering thought from the note salad at the beginning, and use the brighter notes to sound like icicles, a little lower in the mix with some reverb. Make it more ambient like it near enough to hear it, not close enough to see.

Buckethead is an artist on another level. I was wondering if you could suggest a pc vs apple workstation. I've used pc for years but wonder if I'm missing something on the other side by not using apple.

the space between the notes, what isn't there, is a noted consideration in composition. experientially, the space between the notes is inhabited by the listener. my approach to composition is that, one doesn't know what that consists of. at least it leaves me more open ended about who i am as a listener :) (i'd leave the piano more monolithic like teh mountains, a lot of that texture stuff could sit way back.. or dropped in favor of switching teh piano to teh more populated flowy for a passage)

Are there some other great sound design channels you recommend? I need something to do in between your homework assignments!

If you didn't know Dominik Eulberg has made some of the most emotive, nature inspired house/techno music of the last 10+ years. Well worth a look.
