I wish they gave her more time! It is hard to find talks on the deeper aspects of photography!

WOW at 22:10 you hit the main point. Knowing who you are and what you want to create. That was so wonderful Brooke.

YES.. I'm not the only one that gets weird looks from Home Depot employees when asking them for help in finding the right stuff to build a make shift room. lol. The looks and wuestions I have gotten. I own Artismo Studio Share along with my super small production company, so this happens about 3 to 4 times a year. hahahahaha

Her style is not my thing at all. But I definitely have those issues she discusses like I do keep going with these theme? I feel that keeping to a theme is limiting. But at the same time is what people know me for and like about my work. What is the purpose of taking for photos? Are the photos for me or should I create photos to please other people? I think it was nice to hear a nice formatted speech about something I go through in this filed, despite my dislike for her work.

I don't think the audience was ready or able to go as deep as she's asking them to go.

I watched a documentary with Eastern European WW2 survivors. A woman being interviewed was asked if she was rapped. She scoffed at the man for asking her such a obvious trivial thing and said of course she was numerous times. But she lived through many more horrible things in that war than being rapped. The problem with trying to depict the subject matter I see in most of your art is that its appeal will be mostly limited to those who way overestimate and magnify, for various reasons, the troubles they know. So it comes across to some as shallow. The ability it takes to live through the horrors that would make for a great depicter of pain seem to run contradictory to or almost exclusive to the traits required to artistically display them realistically. You got to pay your dues if you want to sing the blues runs on a progressive scale. Maybe the gal from the gallery knows or senses that, recognizes your talent and wanted to see you work on a subject matter you would possibly know better. So rather than chancing on losing you she'll continue to make money while hopping someday you'll bring your obvious talent around to something you should know better. But than maybe you're happy with your present audience and customers. Nothing wrong with that. In any case thank you for an interesting thoughtful video and for being so open. And I truly hope you don't find this offensive.
