If you play as a gray, you can also pick up a pup so you can have two of them

Theres a similar game made by the same creator called ultimate wolf simulator 2! Actually, there's a whole bunch of mobile games like this by the same creator^^

female's can only grab cubs but you can pick up the cub as a male if you switch to female, pick up the cub then switch to male

My cougar is a male and he picked up the cub. When you go near the cub a little prompt will pop up to grab the cub.

you have to reload the game to get your pup back at home

Not quite. WQ has a better AI system for the companions I feel. WQ has years of development were the Wilds is a new fresh game so we cant really compare yet. I am excited to see what the Dev for The Wilds comes up with though 😊
