In this making music video I use Ableton Push 2 as a very powerful and convenient groovebox. While Push 2 is "just a controller" it is not really necessary to look at the computer screen with Ableton Live! Because Push 2 itself is more than enough! I also talk about how to get inspired while making music, how to get inspiration to make music, how to practice making music, how to make music from scratch, how to make music with ableton, ableton 11 tips and tricks, ableton push 2 tips and tricks.

🌍 Hello World! My name is Ihor.
This is my channel where I share my experiences, ideas, reviews and tutorials related to Electronic Music Production. I focus mostly on Techno and House music. In my Studio on my Music Production Desk you will find a variety of different gear like: digital and analog synth, eurorack modular, drum machine, sampler, effect, mixer, guitar pedal, MIDI controller. Also software: DAW, Ableton, VST, plugins.
I am myself an engineer and I am quite obsessed with the Music Technology and Sound Design. I like making music without a computer. I like playing Electronic Music Live with my Minimal Dawless Setup. I love Eurorack Modular Techno and always keen to talk about the modular workflow.
I strongly believe that nothing can be better than a good Dawless Techno Jam!
I watched all the Techno Tutorials on KZread! (I think)
📺 Thanks for watching! And have fun!
✌️ Peace.

This is one of the best videos I've seen for the Push 2. It was very close to being a tutorial. One thing I particularly like about Ihor's videos is the way in which they clearly show his process. You're able to discern how he is doing each step without some sort of quick edit that leaves you going "Wait!! Whoa! What the hell??? How did he do that? How did he get there?!???" (This drives me crazy with a number of popular synth KZreadrs.) This video, particularly, allowed me to learn a great deal because I was actually able to follow along with his process and understand the logic and overall flow. Great work! (Also, this was a great beat - very original AND very listenable. Not an easy thing to do!)

You said it for me. This is great. Really clear, easy to follow and precise explanations. I’ve learned a couple of things within the first ten minutes. Push is absolutely amazing. Only just getting started with it but adore it already.

I completely agree. The Ableton Push 2 videos are more like promotion videos. They don’t show how to do things as clearly as this. Well done!

Igor, I really appreciate the way you explain things on the push. It helps me a lot understanding Ableton and finding my way true the Push menu's. I'm also using the Digitakt and I started to get familiar with that machine. The push I find more difficult but it's a great machine. So pls continue the starting from scratch video's for the Push 2. Again many thanks and keep up the good work!!! I love it!!

I just realized how fresh this video was. Great job bud, I’m trying to learn how to record MIDI in live but the count in seems to variate every time I push the button. I’m trying to figure out it’s behaviour so I can develop a reliable process for live sequencing.

Everyone uses Ableton so differently. I would use drum racks as opposed to chromatic note to play and sequence drums. But I guess you could say this is a more stripped down way of playing and sequencing drum hits. There's no right or wrong way to use Ableton or the Push. Which I like but oddly hate too. It's a very unbalanced way of learning the Ableton products. We learn our own technique without any predetermined methods. Cool way to use it though. Cheers

Yes, I agree with you. It also bugs me at times when there is too much of flexibility and almost no limitations to do one thing. I can easily get stuck when there is too much choice. But at the end it all comes to personal preferences and processes. Thank you for your comment!

It is a bummer, that Ableton seems to forgot to send a Push3 to Ihor! with him using the P2 “Standalone” aka away from the screen, P3 is exactly what he needs.
