Creating a Project Management App in Salesforce - Part 1

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Build a simple project management app in Salesforce. The app includes both a Project and a Timesheet object to enable you to track time. We also build a timekeeping ‘URL-driven’ report that summarizes time for any given project.

Very clear, concise and detailed tutorial. I found the Entity Relationship Diagram extremely helpful as a reference while following along. Also greatly appreciated how this tutorial explained the very important question of WHY we are going through each step of the process, as well as WHY we build this app in a particular order. Excellent! Feel much more ready to tackle my first app!

Could you make the hours worked a manual input instead of linking to a time sheet report? Or is there an advantage to the timesheet. We just track how much time a certain role has spent on supporting an opportunity

Hi Anushka, The Venn diagram is used to specify which data should be reported on. In our example, we want to report only on Accounts that have Projects, whether or not that Project has a timesheet or not. Take a look at the following Salesforce admin article on report types: admin.salesforce.com/blog/2017/ultimate-guide-report-types

@@Kuhakuu yes when you create the report page you need to copy the report code in the URL and paste it in “REPORT ID HERE “ so that it pulls that report into the equation. He shows you this step later on in the tutorial keep going! You got this
