Create your own Vintage Star Wars Ewok Mini Diorama - Toy Polloi

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It's nice to be able to display your vintage Star Wars toys in interesting and unique ways. If this video I create a simple diorama for my Ewoks using a few pieces of wood, string and some electronic tea lights.
The end result is a very nice looking display for them.

    Great job sir. Your diorama is very creative and really shows off your figures. It's much better to display your collection in such away rather than in some static poses IMHO. I'm going to give your idea a try though I'm not sure I can make mine look nearly as good as yours. Thanks for tips.

    Great diorama. Just wondering if you wired both LEDs to one switch? Another use for these tea lights is with the old Dagobah play set. Thanks to the opening for the tracks on the 'cave' side, no drilling needed. Yoda can finally have fire to warm up that bad soup.

    +Dean Brown I'll have to watch the video again myself as it was a long time ago that I made this. It would have been very simple as you just need the switch on one wire.

    Hey Dave 🙂 Many moons ago, this was my first video watched of yours. Really like how you used natural items to build and it turned out great. Do you still use it as a display, or did it make it to the attic ready for rotation? Happy Friday.

    it's not a bad playset but a lot of people give it hell because its an ewok toy, but I do agree with the majority in believing the robin hood retool is a much better toy for the ewoks, sadly I never owned the robin hood playset but I do have the ewok village.

    +sgf129 I do see them around from time to time. If I had the space I would probably get one. I just got the Turrey and Probot playset which is pretty nice, but only about half the size, and I don't have anywhere for that to go :D

    Hi there That’s a great idea and it looks fab I build big scale diorama aswell u can check the vid in my channel.just a quick question..how many this light can connect to the standard switch (tea candle switch)at max? I have big ewok village diorama that probably need 20-25 light minimum..thanks for the help

  • @toypolloi

    @toypolloi

    For that many lights you would need a bigger battery than just a single tealight holds. Might even be easier to power them from a few different batteries around the display to make it easier to hide the wires.

    Excellent job on the mini diorama. BTW, found something that you may get a little kick out of. Apparently, in the 1980s, Women's Day magazine had a couple of articles on making Star Wars action figure playsets for kids. Here's a webpage about it (they have scans of the actual pages. The link at the bottom of the page will lead you to it if you want to check them out): theswca.com/images-speci/womansday2/

    I like that! They used to do similar things on Blue Peter. I'll have to check if they ever did any Star Wars Stuff. I know they did Action man and Sindy.

    Toy Polloi I figured you'd get a kick out of it (in fact, from the page I linked, they also have a link to a "Sci-Fi City" playset instructions that Women's Day previously written). I can't say I've heard of Blue Peter (may have to look at that), but I think its awesome that there was someone thinking about custom playsets/dioramas from stuff you can easily find that far back (I've seen people make playsets from foam core board, to cardboard, and even seen someone who took an old radio and repurposed it into a playset for 1980s G.I. Joe/Action Man figures. I've thumbed through a whole section of Figure Realm that has custom playsets of various sizes).

    Blue Peter is a famous British Kids TV show. They are well known for making a Thunderbirds Tracy Island. They have been on TV for years, so I'm sure there must be some other gemsthey made over the years. I prefer making things out of other cheap stuff, it just seems more creative and fun.
