Create The Mandalorian Darksaber Effect
This is a tutorial where I show how to create The Darksaber effect from The Mandalorian inside of After Effects. You also might have seen this effect in the animated shows Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels.
I created this effect using After Effects.

I don't even have after effects and I'm not really interested in special effects, but this is just great!
You Sir, Are A Savior. Truly! I have been trying many things and they all failed, but this is the best and only tutorial I could find

Hey thanks a lot Ben!
Not Bad! I would try to make a larger second glow with a fractcal noise appliedas it seems to have second glow that flickers quikly around the outside. A small trace of 60-70% advanced lighting on the "sharp" edge of the weapon will sell that subtle design (Which is more prevalent in the Clone Wars dark saber) this is a good foundation!
Brandon fate i like your videos and i enjoy watching ur vids pls reply🤗
Something that would've elevated this little clip even more would be surrounding lighting. I feel like the Blade would give off a White Glow in its surrounding, so that would definitely make it look just the next bit better, though it would definitely take even more hours.
Thank you so much for video
Where can i find sound effects?
Do u happen provide the service of making a music video for people? Your work is amazing.
Nice work dude. But I think if you have placed trakers on the corners of the blade, then track them with after effects, it would have been easier :D
bro preach
What source did you use for the sound effects in the opening clip?
What if you had painted the blade green (or some other color that does not appear in the screen). Couldn't that have become a transparent mask that would let the white color show through? How about using some kind of motion tracking? I wonder if using Fusion in DaVinci Resolve with the tracking plus building a solid model of the blade and then tracking it onto the hilt. Not sure how to get the orientation of the model except manually adjusting it.
Have you see the animated series star wars rebels or the videogame jedi fallen order?
