    We are all "Natural Light Specialists" until we learn to shoot strobes and flash. I love natural light, and what it can create, but shooting with strobes opens up a whole new world. It's exciting, the added control you possess once you start to understand it. The way Peter floods his subjects with light is interesting. It's not my style, but I can absolutely respect it. Peter kicks ass at what he does. Headshots and selling gear.

    I shot on Hurly's kit at the PPA conference and it does produce amazing light. I def fell in love with this kit. It was a pleasure to shoot on and I watched Peter set it up pretty quickly. Immediately I was sold, take my money already! Then I saw the price, woah and there lies the rub. I think at 5K you are pricing yourselves out of a market that is reinventing itself every couple of years. Think about where LEDS were just 5 years ago compared to today... color was terrible and price points just made them a non option. LED technology is advancing so fast and the CRI is now up to 95 on cheaper chinese LEDS. No one is arguing the flex kit is unique and puts out beautiful light. But for head shot photographers, we are going to be using flat panels not flex panels. Why not put out rigid flat panels at a lower price point? How long before a chinese competitor puts out rigid flat panels for half the price of your flex kit? I own 3 Wescott Apollo soft boxes and love them. You guys make pro level stuff and I am fan of your products, but I am waiting on the sidelines untill this LED kit comes down on price. For real. Thanks

    everyone is complaining about the price, for me personally i dont have a problem with the price because those light got me more jobs and in a short time i already made more than i paid for them. it all depends, if photographing is your full time job and you making good money out of it then i dont think Westcott kit price is an issue. iam happy with the lights and gives me the flexibility of travelling with them anytime and everywhere, before i was using 3 profoto b1s with soft boxes and when traveling or going to a corporate for some shots, they are painful and take long to setup, but with westcott they are just amazing, easy to setup and easy to packup. plus the quality of the light is just stunning.

  • @5acesdown
    @5acesdown7 жыл бұрын

    The question is...can you control the leds brightness from camera? Also, leds are continuous light which are governed by shutter speed, therefore, on location outside, if you want to dim the ambient surrounding light with faster shutter speed you will be dimming the leds as well, making them useless for main light. That's my point of view unless there is something about those led lights I don't know.

    Continuous lights have distinct qualities and limitations. I think Peter does a good job of outlining the advantages he finds with the Flex lights.

  • @WestcottLighting

    Peter's Kit is the Westcott Flex LED mats. www.fjwestcott.com/shop/lighting/led/flex The trigger is for the strobe or speedlights he uses on just the background in combination with the LED continuous lights on the subject.
