Create Falling Object animations with Particles in Blender

In this video I go through my process for creating particle systems in blender for flavor visualization. This particular method results in falling objects using particles that I use for things like fruits and foods to create 3D product visualization in Blender.

Great tutorial once again JBrash, as a C4D user I'm loving your content about blender, more tools the better.

I’m super glad you’ve enjoyed watching some! Switching from c4d had its ups and downs but I’m happy overall :]

What theme are you using in your blender?

Dope man but since you used to use Houdini before, I think you'd like the geometry nodes in Blender as well, give it a shot.

Awesome tutorial. How did you get the example video you shown, where the particles don't intersect with the product when falling?

Gonna try this tomorrow with a weekender bag we are marketing, but am gonna use one model of it and show a few videos like this back to back to make it appear like its falling from a really high distance.

Pretty much always image sequences! I just do PNG though as I usually don’t require EXR data

Hello, thanks for a great tutorial! I have only one question, is there a possibility to set particle system so that the falling objects dont intersect with each other?

This can be accomplished by making your particles rigid bodies in the physics tab (: I just didn’t do that here because it shows down calculations quite a bit

How do you stop the particles from colliding with each other?

  • @jbrashfx

Make them rigid bodies! I don’t usually because it slows things down but if you need very precise collisions just make the particles rigid bodies in the original object

are there any other settings we should change? maybe in the particle system settings? I'm trying to make the particles collide instead of intersecting with each others@@jbrashfx
