Create Double Exposure Logos with Inkscape
In this tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how to create double exposure logos using Inkscape. Double exposure is a technique that allows you to create an optical illusion in which two objects are exposed at once. In order for this to work in a logo design, the objects will be merged together to make a single object. This is something that is usually implemented in photography and photo editing, but if done right it can work just as a logo design as well.
The resources used in this tutorial can be found here: logosbynick.com/create-double...

Hey nick I just want to say awesome video! I just stared using Inkscape and I’m trying to figure out how it works. If would ask a question I noticed your canvas was not displayed in the background so I was wondering how you setup your canvas or art board settings. I’m also not allowed grab and quickly adjust or reposition the canvas and I not allowed to add multiple canvas on one document which really interferes with my workflow.
Magnifico!
Hello Mr. Nick, hope all is well with you and your family. Just wanted to no if you still have your classes available, and if one should take your class what should be expected at the end of your class if one applies him or herself? On thing sir you make it seen so easy and I'll say you are really good.
I love your tutorials. Easy to understand and to follow. How do you do the post processing of the logos? Like the KZread preview images for example?

Perhaps you can make a tutorial about that, too?
Hi Nick, I have been following you for a long time and used your tutorials to learn Inkscape. Which in turn has allowed me to start a new business. So thank you! I do have a quick question. I'm using the new version for Catalina on mac. Do you know if there is a way to may the size dock smaller? I have scaled it as much as it will let me by dragging it. I have looked and didn't see a setting in preferences but thought maybe I was missing it. Any help would appriciated.
Nice Video Thanks
Liked and subscribed :) hahahahah man I'm thanking God for finding your channel and i'll enroll your courses as well lol
Thanks
Waw. Thank you Mr. Nick for all this free content on Inkscape you've provided over the years, and I can now say I'm no more a beginner using Inkscape. Question: Can inkscape be used in a way to make mockups of a product (sample) for a client's product?. Thanks
@LogosByNick

Hi Victor, it depends on the product, but it sounds like that would be better suited for something like Blender that allows you to design 3D objects.

Can you do another one with just a little bit more complexity to it, or an Advanced One. Thanks.
Hi Nick, I am new to Inkscape and have been enjoying your videos! I've been trying to follow this one but something happens to the image it becomes grey with nodes covering it...do you know what this could be. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi Nick, thank for the videos, I have a question about how to create double exposure jpg format
Hi, Nice one! I am curious to know if this will work to make scin overlay for the Sims 4???
Nice, thumbsjUP
'Yuh bad na boi', trini saying- it means you know your stuff.
maybe this is the start a new prosperous carreer for me. Who knows.
Nick, why haven't I heard you mention "Corel Draw" even once? Well, honestly I am still new to this channel, probably not 50 videos I've watched, but among ones that mention other applications, I never heard it being mentioned. I am curious.
🙌
Hello Nick, Hope you are doing great, this time I have just one request. Can you please do some tutorials to make illustrations of actual human beings (e.g. cartoons like you have two characters sitting below the master's class banner, a man and a woman, in the start of this video)? I mean some human sort of characters, I hope you got my point. Thanks alot. @ Logos By Nick
Hi nick.I want you to teach me how to make a photo to cartoon . thanks again

Hey nick I ungrouped the images but when I select the bear it still has them all grouped together. What am I missing?

dont seem to get any help on this page apart from the video lol when i do it and click union, nothing happens
how to get ideas for creating logo
Dude when I do the union it isn't even doing that! Anyone has any idea?
Hey I have recently installed this software but that does not have same features like yours. ....???
First of all I really enjoy your videos m8, but I have a question. When I try to intersect it says "One of the Objects is not a Path." I tried pressing Object to path but that didn't work. Any suggestions what I could try ?
@LogosByNick
4 жыл бұрын
Try selecting the objects and going to path > object to path. Then try ungrouping it. If that doesn't work then you're probably using a raster image like a PNG or JPG file. Make sure to download the vector SVG format like I did in the video.

@@LogosByNick Thanks a lot for the quick answer. I really appreciate and love you for replying to people that are in need of help. I reinstalled Inkscape and this somehow fixed it. I don't know why or what was wrong. If I missspelled some words I am very sorry. I'm from Germany so English is not my mother tongue 😅. Anyways thank you for your efforts!
I cant make a union, it doesnt work on me;/
How do I open up my logo I created in inkscape into gimp without it looking distorted. Thanks.

I'm having an error were when I press union my objects aren't combining together to have the same result as your image. I know this video is a bit old and the firmware mightve changed so its done a different way but I'm just asking if there's a problem if this video is not relevant with the newer inkscape versions.
Is there a fix for this? I’m using normal images and it won’t work!
I keep trying over and over again at the exact same way with the same vectors but still no succes. Really need some help 😢
Thank you, Can you make a tutorial for how to making a logo for Road Transport Packer & Mover logo.
Can not make this work even followed to a T and it never seems to work for me
Did you make the Snowy Wiess beer logo? Its almost the same . Im literally drinking one as Im watching your videos.

Very similar. This is a pretty common concept.
I'm not able to perform the union path. It shows __one of the objects not path, cannot perform the boolean operation._ ___
@LogosByNick
3 жыл бұрын
I would make sure each object is indeed a vector. Try zooming in on it. If it becomes pixelated then it's not a vector and Union won't work. If it is a vector then try ungrouping it (control + shift + g)

It could be that the objects are grouped. Path operations (like Union) only work on individual objects. Try ungrouping.
