Hi Helga, It has been more or less 8 months now since we did the technique on the floor. There has been a few spots (which I suspect we didn’t clean properly during the initial onset) that I had to touch up. The Stencil of Paris is still intact and stunning. The areas where the paint walked off I cleaned again with Lacquer Thinners, waited, painted and washed over again and you can slightly see the touched up areas. Proper cleaning is so important at the initial start of the technique (you have to wash the floor with Lacquer Thinners) but it remains a floor which is such a tricky surface and flaws might occur. The technique is 100% successful on a cement floor🌷

Can you paint cement floor with just the tjoko paint and sealer?

Do you have to seal the raw cement with a cement sealer before you do the stencil with plaster of Paris?

Hi Belinda, the steps I followed on raw cement was to clean it properly by washing with clean water and allow to dry thoroughly. I then applied a wash technique where I mixed 1 part water with 1 part Tjhoko Clear Glaze and one part Tjhoko Cloud White. There are videos on our KZread channel where we explain a wash technique. You do the application with a damp cloth. You wash the cement with the mixture to give a subtle change in Colour. Allow to dry and then stencil. 💝
