Create A Custom Progress Bar Timer In PowerPoint
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this tutorial I'll show you how to create your own custom progress bar timer to show a visual indication of how much time is left for a particular task, allowing you to choose any period of time from 1 minute to 1 hour.

Genius. Oh and you have a voice that could voiceover an advert for chocolate.
This was exactly what I needed!! I've been watching so many tutorials to find a workaround to the 59 second max time that were ridiculously complicated or ugly. This is just perfect.

Great! I was trying to find a solution for hours, watching so many difficult videos! Thank you so much!
I looked at a lot of videos to create timing for a project. This by far was my absolute favorite!! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the simplicity and yet power of this task! I'm creating a game and this will help in providing a timer for it!
Oh my god thank you so much! Finally! Edit: I've come back to this just to say thanks again. This really helped me achieve something important to me. It's astounding that there isn't a good timer built into Powerpoint nor a well-made add-on!
Thank you, exactly what I was looking for! Works perfectly.
Thank You so much, I wasted 30min or so looking at similar videos which were not was I was looking for and complicated too. this is wonderful I'll used it for teaching sessions

I have watched 3 videos and nothing answered my question until I saw and watched your video. Thank you very much for uploading this video. You explained it briefly and clearly.
I consider myself to be a knowledgeable Powerpoint user. But it never occurred to me to use the animation tools to craft a timer to keep an event on track. The creative possibilities are endless and I am happy to add this to my Powerpoint toolbox.
Thank you so much for this video, this is a great help for me. I tried many timers but nothing worked, but this one did,now I can use it for my class.
A really clear and helpful video. Thanks!

very well and clear explained. could apply without problems and wasting time
Just to help anyone else in the future. Instead of dragging the timer to make it longer, you can just right click on the rectangle timer in the animation pane, and click timing. You can manually set any time there by just typing in the time.
Awesome and so simple solution, thanks for the explanation

thank you! great help for me as a teacher.
Thank you! very straightforward and useful info! I have been failing though to make an adaptation of this to actually keep a progress bar going despite changing slides. Embedding in Master view didn't seem to help. Could you suggest a way to work around this that I might try please? I'm not good at macros but is this approach worthy for my need? Cheers
Dude! You just won my subscription. Do you know how many people out there are saying you need to download an add-on. You just hacked it...lol

thank you for that demonstration. I'd like to know how can i make the slide change after the timer bar is filled?
@TheTechTrain
7 жыл бұрын
You'll need to insert a slide transition which includes a delay that's the same as the length of your timer. That would be the easiest option I think.
Thanks!!!

Thank you for this. I am also asking the same question: How can I apply this to the whole presentation to stick to my allocated time (usually 15 to 20 minutes)?
@TheTechTrain
6 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't be able to do it with this method as this is just a single slide animation. Your best approach would either be to use the Rehearse Timings tool and record the slide transitions and animation timings so that your presentation always lasts exactly the right amount of time, or perhaps use VBA to create a macro which updates the elapsed time on the screen. I actually wrote a VB.Net app which displays a small clock in front of all windows on the screen which I use in my lessons for timing tasks, or just seeing what the current time is when a presentation is running full screen and there are no clocks in the room.
Big thanks sir!
