Create a Combination Chart with a Totals Label
A stacked column chart packs a lot of data into one column except when it comes to labeling a grand total. Sure you can use the axis values to figure out what the total is, but what if you wanted to have the total value on the columns itself? Well ask and you shall receive! This video shows how to put a total on each stacked column and even adds some extras on how to put custom labels for each of the series of data. Nice! Thanks! My table is very big so it does not look nice when there are so many numbers touching each other. I was trying to put their total on a Dashboard. Some of them have no totals because every month data changes. Now my question is when I tried to test, I saw that when there were no numbers It was just showing Total: ? That does not look nice at all without value. How do I make sure that if no value then it shows text like 'Nothing'? It should not show Total: as blank. Any suggestion, please? Thanks

Can you please explain why at 5:00 your North, South and Total values change when you are just adding text for "North %" and "South %" you haven't added a formula but the bar chart is changing. Also at 6:56 when I select the data for Label Options -> Value From Cells checkbox does not appear. Can you please help as to why I may not be getting that option? Thanks

Those columns have the RANDBETWEEN function in it so it regenerates whenever there's an edited action on any other cell. The values from cells depends on what version of Excel you have 2013 or later...

Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate why for excel 2016 why I am not getting the option to change Value from Cells for the Data Label option? Its very frustrating

Are you on a Mac? if so , it's not implemented on the Excel Mac version.

just a guess :-). Even though MSFT tried to make PC and Mac version have some parity...there's still some item not there.
