Create a Clean and Fast Windows 10 Install

Ғылым және технология

Today I'm going to show you how to use the Windows 10 Debloater script to make a slimmed down fast install of Windows 10. This script will allow you to easily remove many built in Windows 10 programs and bloatware as well as disable Microsoft's telemetry.

Thanks. Have a new HP Pavilion coming tomorrow and have been searching KZread videos on how to do this. Most show using the same DeBloater script, but your video, hands down, is the BEST. More detailed than the others presented in a direct well spoken and understandable voice. Subscribed and look forward to other useful videos.

@B F plus, the author of this video we are commenting on and telling our experiences of, used a debloat script when I use Tron Script which does not remove the ability to update the operating system. The script this guy is using here is Windows 10 Debloater Master, a now useless script as Microsoft will always find ways around it

good morning ! I used several tutorials to debloater my pc, but many of them lacked instructions, it was going too fast, or the youtuber forgot a small part that ruined everything. But it's finally your video that allowed me to understand the path to have to execute this script, moreover quite easy. Now my 3 pc's are now debloated and are extremely responsive and snappy ! (a AMD ryzen pc, a dell precision T3600 based on a Xeon e5-2697, and a lga 1155 computer with a i5 3570) thanks a lot to you & your explanations !

I run an IT company and one of the little known versions of Win 10 out there is the LTSB, or now LTSC flavours (Long Term Servicing Branch or Long Term Servicing Channel). These are cut down, stripped out versions of Win 10 that contain no Cortana, Store or even Edge browser. We use them for certain clients in the Volume Licencing sphere. Windows Server 2016 and 2019 are based on the same ethos. Of course, these versions are not readily available to the end user, so this video is surely the next best thing!

I know this is an old video. With that said, I went a different route. I installed window 10 LTSC. None of the stuff I would want to strip out is installed in LTSC. After first boot, I installed and ran O&O Shutp10. Easy as pie. If you buy 5 Microsoft licenses you qualify as a volume user and can buy LTSC without resorting to dubious sources. An identity manager license is less than $8.00. Buy 4 of them and you qualify for a LTSC license. This route is not cheap. The LTSC license will cost you $265.00 plus the $32.00 to make you a "volume" customer. Yes you can get a regular windows 10 pro license for $10.00 on certain websites and then do the legwork of stripping out what you don't want. This is just another tool in the box.

After removing restrictions you can also right click the bloatware folder and click run with Powershell. Frankly, this app's appearance is a mess in the Customize Blacklist section. Sorry about that. I'm a full-time Linux user so I typically use bash commands more then dos commands. I used the Tide key. In Linux and Windows powershell it indicates the home directory. So these are both the same. ~\desktop And C:\users\{username}\desktop It's just quicker to type the ~ character then "c:\users\{username}" Also if you just start typing the folder name you can hit the tab key to auto complete. I typed ~\desk {tab} This auto completed C:\users\{username}\desktop It's just quicker and it's a habit. I rarely type the entire name of the file or folder I'm looking for because I can just hit tab too auto complete what I'm trying to type. I do it so often I didn't even realize I did it in the video.

Couldn't you do a video on how to (at least get the best) of Oculus Quest and Steam VR running on Windows 11? It's a mess, I'm barely finding anything that helps and you're fantastic with so many informative videos on Windows 11. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have any VR hardware. A little to pricey for my budget at the moment.

I know you were using an older version of the script in the video, but I downloaded and ran a newer version of the script, and caution should be taken prior to running it because it will include apps that you intentionally installed on the computer, that's not bloatware, and it will have a checkmark in the checkbox to the left of it, which if unchecked, the script will uninstall the app(s). That's why I went through the tedious process of going through the long list and unchecking apps that I purchased to avoid having to reinstall them.

The newer version is much harder to read. The font is very small, the dark gray background and the check marks are so faint. The older version depicted in the video is far easier to see.

I tried the debloater and it messed up my clients computer beyond belief. I believe it was 20H2. After a reboot, there was a popup saying that GeForce was not installed every time windows started. Clicking the icon brought up a popup saying there is no app to install this, giving no other way of exiting. This was likely a result of not having the windows store. All in all it was a disaster. I will play with it on a clean install because I do want the benefits of removing bloat, but I think this needs to be done at a specific time. Your video would be even more helpful if you include when this should be ran, like right after install, or after initial updates, or after every update. Aside from my failed attempt to clean up and speed up a client's computer that was filled with junk on startup (iCloud and Samsung sync being the worst culprits), it's a great little guide. Thanks dude, it's appreciated.

Sorry that happened to you. Try to do an upgrade install to 20H2 again and it might fix it. If the media creation tool won't let you do it there's a registry hack that you can do to fool the system into thinking it's running Windows 8.1 and it will do the install. I'm not sure of the exact steps to take to do it but I saw a Microsoft support I do it the other day and I think I'm going to do a video on it soon. it essentially works the same way that Windows XP used to work on a repair install.

One question, if you set up the computer with a separate admin-account, and use this script, and another user then log on (thus creating a new account), will you have to run that script for that person as well or will the changes actually be for all users? I have tried some script earlier, and that only did changes for the account that was logged in when the script ran.
