The space we have when Mixing is two speakers, but in theory we have a three dimensional room with the volume that we can fill with all of our different sounds taking up a different location between the speakers.
in this lesson Robert shows you how to manipulate the height, depth, and width of a mix using common mixing tools.

You have a really nice way of explaning things with all those analogies. I'm suscribed and get notifications and I really don't mind waiting a little longer for a video. I hope the youtube algorithm makes more people discover your channel because they're seriously missing out on some top quality stuff. Keep it up!

Also I found extra step for better stereo image.. if you have two audio tracks .. from same instrument such as accoustic guitar panned hardly to right and little on left ( left side must be -4db than right side) this will help you to add more width in the mix. Because both side gonna add muddy to mix . Basically low -4db on side that is not hardly focused on .

is there a way to make something sound elevated (ie. on high platform, or directly above) in a mix?

You could try a small room reverb, sometimes the early reflections can lift an instrument out of a dense mix. Thanks for the comment!

Part of your comments are fine, but you should be talkin about the phase shift when used HPF or LPF and the harsh sounding. For other hand, your congas are distorted
