Fabulous 60's psychedelic rock. I had this album and played it constantly. Still sounds good.

This song was inspired by trips Eric Clapton took to the Greek Islands. Ulysses, also known as Odysseus, is a character of Greek Mythology. A hero of the Trojan War, he was the subject of the novel The Odyssey. It's amazing how many songs come from these musicians reading books, being inspired by ancient poetry, or just getting their hearts broken. Great guitar work on this song Thanks, Biz. You're the college of musical knowledge.

This was one of the super groups of the 60's. Everyone of the 3 guys (Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker & Eric Clapton) was super talented but they also had big egos. So they didn't always get a long. They all came from previous successful bands. But in the few short years they were together they produced some classic songs such as "White Room", "Crossroads", "Born Under A Bad Sign", "Strange Brew", "Sunshine Of Your Love", "SWLABR" etc. Sadly only Eric Clapton is left now from this great group.

The lyrics are by Martin Sharp, who designed the album covers of Cream's "Disraeli Gears" and "Wheels of Fire." He was considered Australia's greatest pop artist and cartoonist.

One of the first songs to present wah - wah pedal. Eric Clapton has stated that he took influences from Lovin' Spoonful song "Summer In The City" in writing the descending pattern.

Another awesome track by Cream. Unbelievably talented band. Nice one Biz. And Cream was more Jack Bruce's band than it was Clapton's, as far as he wrote and sang most of the songs, as well as playing bass, harmonica and keys.

If you enjoy songs with historical/literary references, you will absolutely love Al Stewart. Many, if not most, of his songs have strong historical references. He even has a song about the Trojan War, called "Helen and Cassandra", which is an amazing song.

I was in junior high when this came out. My friends and I wore this ablum out. It still sounds so good. Check out "Can't Find My Way Home" by Blind Faith (Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, and Ginger Baker). Such a sweetly sad lament.
