I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and also read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZread. 😀

RIP. Jackie, Finer was phenomenal on drums, but Jack was THE ‘groove’ background of Cream and this track emphasises my point, I think (modestly). Saw Jack in 2008/9 with his ‘usual 3-man combo’ set up @ Shepherd’s Bush - seeing Jack Bruce perform had been a long time wish of mine since I was around 13 years old (we are fellow Glaswegians after all) and ‘What A blast!’ literally because this little man could project his voice , having a very good understanding of projecting sound / acoustics. Again, RIP, JAB. With all my love, JaneR

Super to be able to see these takes. But, much like the video of their finale show at Albert Hall, you never really get many, or any shots of Eric playing guitar. It's almost as though they intentionally went out of their way to avoid showing him playing. However, if you're a fan of looking up Jack's nose, your in clover !
@chriscampbell9191
2 жыл бұрын
There are a lot more shots of Eric Clapton on the Sunshine Of Your Love vid taken at this same performance. That take in itself is really cool because it's got an extended solo section where Eric is really ripping into it. All on his bridge pickup, too. Well worth checking out.
@alanosterman7130

@@chriscampbell9191 OK, one thing I really notice is that he has a vibrato like no one else I've ever seen. Plays the high frets like no one else too. Love to watch his left hand at work.
@chriscampbell9191

@@alanosterman7130 In the Sunshine of your Love clip, you also get to see the pick Clapton's using, which looks fairly thick. My guess it he didn't want pick breakage, and also he may have been striving for the most volume he could get. I've never seen any info on what picks Clapton used.... guessing they were thick celluloid or maybe nylon Herco? RE: High frets: there's a Yardbirds clip where they've playing on British television, doing Louise, and Clapton is playing way up there on the Telecaster. You can see a lot of the fingering in that clip.

Ginger is so good! I mean obviously the whole band is but neither Eric or Jack have stood the test of time like Ginger IMO (and I’m a guitarist). I grew up idolizing Clapton, Page, Hendrix and SRV. And for various reasons (maybe cause I can play their stuff) well I can’t play Stevie like Stevie but nobody can, but I’ve fallen in and out of love with these guys over the years. But Ginger is still top 5 easily. I’d put him higher personally but just so as not not get into a fight in the comments section of KZread I’ll say top 5.

We were so easily pleased in those days.
I love how Ozzy Osborne always says we wouldn’t have Black Sabbath without Cream and you totally hear it. Ozzy said their first album was mostly copying off of Cream but darker. Cream is even such a crazy group before Led Zeppelin. Fresh Cream was 1966 wow

Rock & Roll History.
Also if ya dig this song by Cream on youtube 😀 you may enjoy Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band. 😀
You won't get more up close & personal than this 💪

They r stopped making like Cream a LONG time ago. The British hippie power trio

There are a lot more shots of Eric Clapton on the Sunshine Of Your Love vid taken at this same performance. That take in itself is really cool because it's got an extended solo section where Eric is really ripping into it. All on his bridge pickup, too. Well worth checking out.

I’d put him higher personally but just so as not not get into a fight in the comments section of KZread I’ll say top 5.

cream and the stones credited dixon while led zeppelin stole outright his tunes - "whole lotta love" is his "you need love" - so leading him to suing them (successfully). willie dixon- ass kicker!

@@johnandrews2768 I think theres a vinyl called "Revolution Club (Live '68)", that was released relatively recently, but it might just be digital and CD, I don't know. this must be early 1968, given eric,s hairstyle and moustache.
