Most people here don’t seem to understand the concept of selling in bulk. As silverpicker has said dozens of times, the seller he bought from was a knowledgeable coin collected who knew what the value of his collector was when he sold it. Selling items online individually takes time and a lot of effort, he has to pay shipping and ship off the individual packages which can be time consuming. Selling in bulk is selling all of your items at a discounted rate, not a rip off.

Also on the ones from estate sales. People say that he ripped the seller off, but they probably bought the collection for less then they sold it for.

Eh. When selling to someone for resale, usually 50-65% is reasonable. Also, you don't know what other 'agreements' were made. Maybe Silverpicker is going to offer selling things to the viewer at a reduced cost, etc.

Disagree. Not a ripoff at all. First off, the seller was a knowledgable coin collector and second, it will take me a year to sell everything and I won't actually get the full $825. Closer to $700. A 40% margin over the course of a year is not unreasonable for the risk.

The life of an item in the retail market. Manufacturer sells widget to a Whole Seller for $2.00,Whole Seller sells Widget to Retailer for $4.00, Retailer sells Widget to consumer for $9.99, Customer uses Widget but needs to sell it but a secondary seller can only sell it for $5.00 because it's used, offers $2.50. Consumer gets angry because they paid $10.00 for the item, which is now used and they want their full money back, they get angry and walk out and end up selling the item for $1.00 in a yard sale. These are the people secondary sellers have to deal with on a daily basis. If he sells all of the collection, he may clear $200 ($600-$400) after discounting some of it and if he uses Ebay, roughly $100 will be lost in sellers fees and PayPal fees. If he keeps some of the items, like he said, he'll get back even less. All he showed was the values not what he's actually going to get for the coins. The seller may have gotten more by selling most of it for the silver scrap but that would destroy the coins and the History that goes along with it. Lets not forget, the seller was Ok with the price that was paid, meaning they got what they wanted out of it. Awesome collection but it would be a bit** to list lol. Personally i love the older 1st and 2nd century B.C. coins, the conditions don't make them very valuable but the history is unparalleled.

@@Silverpicker If you have to say it's a better deal than he'd get at a pawn shop to justify your profit, then I guess there's probably nothing anyone can say to make you feel guilty, because you've already nearly bottomed out your reputation... I have taken risks before, so I do understand how that goes. One time I bought a poorly written ebay auction for a half dollar collection with one crappy picture and a description that included "some of these are probably silver". I got them for essentially face value, and when I received them, they were almost all silver (mostly 90%, some 40%). I decided to split the difference with the guy and I sent him an extra payment through PayPal. Total stranger, totally unsolicited, and he was very grateful. In the end, I'd rather make someone's day, than leave them wondering if they've been ripped off...

Since you are claiming to have made the deal with an experienced collector you obviously gave him him a hard time because an expired collector would not let you make that much off a collection he is trying to turn a profit on. Not only in this irritating to people who look up to you, but it is also infuriating to see argue with you subscribers because you see it as a positive thing for you to rip him off so badly.

Wow... SA and Nam road-trip! Did you do videos?? I'm a South African so I would know some of the places. Now for a bit of personal detail - I have only ever spent one Friday in the USA - spent in NYC! That evening we ate out in an upmarket Manhattan restaurant - celebrating our son's birthday! Yep, 06 Sep! I'll be hoping to spend more time in NYC and hopefully meeting you and taking hand delivery of a future grab bag buy! 👍👍😁😁

Wow. People are so jealous! I am too, but I don't see how going to a pawn or coin shop is any better. Like you said, you bought the whole lot cheaper, you should get a good deal. I would love to have a deal like that! It's very important to be honest with people and tell them the value of their coins. A dealer knows, so he could probably part with the stuff easily.

I love victorinox, that model of their knife is actually called the florist. though if you want a quality knife that will match the beauty of your silver and gold collection I would 1000000% say get yourself a case xx. A bit pricey but when you get one, you’ll see why. The resale on those knivesis fantastic and even some of the boxes for vintage case knives can go for $15-$20, just the boxes. I collect knives too 😂

To everyone saying he ripped this guy off. You are wrong. He will make 150$ at most off the deal. A lot of that stuff with high premiums will set there forever. Paid more then I would offer. 1$ each for Buffalos? That's 25 cents in my neck of the woods. The price the opp said the coins are worth is way off... if you are in the coin game you know..

For everyone saying the seller got “Robbed”. If he was to sell at a coin shop he would be paid just above spot for most of the silver coins and per pound for the international. Yes if he would have sold individually on eBay or someplace he would have gotten a lot more. We don’t know the situation he was in and why he needed to liquidate as fast as he did. He knew what he was doing and the “ loss” he was talking. And regardless. He said yes to the offer. Silver Picker. I’m definitely interested in the meteorite crater coin. Or what ever it is. It’s incredible looking what would be your offer or do I need to email you?

Disagree. He is a knowledgable coin collector who chose to sell all at once for convenience instead of spending time and effort parting it out to get top dollar. Moreover, it's a better deal than he'd get from pawn shops, jewelry stores, and cash4gold places. Finally, a 30-40% profit margin for me is not unreasonable...
