Love the circus music and the little narratives in the bubbles….hilarious! Grew up surfing in Waikiki in the 60’s …it was pristine!

The circus music is so fitting and I understand why I was such an avid surfer at one time. Not so much in recent years though.

Glad I grew up surfing in the early 60's, just a few friends sharing great waves. This looks like the opposite of fun. Great music for this!

There are too many surfers now. You all need to stop surfing. The waves are for me and my friends. You can go play pickleball or something

Amazing vid! Have you considered doing more of these but in the previous style with a voice over and scrubbing through videos. I personally prefer thos. (This is still good tho)

I get the humour in this but I had a Gumby drop in on me at Manly and the impact fractured my leg. Something needs to be done to stop the idiots.

I don’t mind sharing the right wave with the right person, but don’t drop in on me and go slow or do a cutback / fade without being aware

I envisage a new surf etiquette for the crowded future eg. only 2 drop-ins per wave!

OK so my local isn't the most sh.. crowded after all. Why do people bother to paddle out at such places. I've been to the West Coast and seen deserted waves for the taking. No where the masses live, tho.

Both! I started surfing at Manhattan Beach Pier and El Porto in 1959 and there just weren't that many surfers so crowds were never a problem. I think after the movie "Gidget" surfing really caught on. My nickname was "moondoggie".

Its not that much different from the 60s and 70s at malibu . Very common to see multiple surfers on one wave

Horrible 😳 How the hell is that possible to have had surf to develop into that circus. This is going as far as to be a dignity attack. Next thing you know, surf and MMA will mix together to create a new thrill…

I don’t know if Surf localism would solve the issue because so called locals are probably the ones burning people, but I think if everyone including locals understood and had good surf ethics then everyone would have a better time and people would actually get waves to enjoy and practice. By having a I’m a local attitude you just make an excuse to be a dick, be angry, ruin the good atmosphere in the line up, be a bully, and feel like you belong in some group, it’s nice to be nice everyone is out there to have fun and enjoy been out there you know 🏄‍♂️

there was a shot of two rippers on same wave, one burned the other.. they're not all kooks, the etiquette has a limit and has a breaking point, then it becomes chaos
