Well she's also responsible for making Storm a superstar and Echo really. They're definitely some of the best to watch, I have never seen dogs more eager and happy to go to work.

Let them burn off energy in play for 5min B4 trying to control And some would say at 7y they over the hill... it's all in the food and TLC We...got fit 12y who still my best girl for quietly moving out of the thick goorse. She's got turbo when needed... Love watching your clips...you keep it real what handling sheep dogs and farm life is really like.... As you say dogs will grab the shoulder wool to stop N turn if break away. I have a few pushy rams that my girl has to take control of. They then respect and go as ASKED...

It is hard to express how much I enjoy watching your videos. When the dogs are working in the field with the sheep it quite literally brings tears to my eyes. I had a much beloved border collie, a pet not a working dog, and seeing your dogs brings him to my mind and heart. Of course your dogs are very different. It is amazing how you have trained them to do such a wonderful job.

You treat dogs the way we humans should learn to treat ourselves - with respect and love.

I was at a wedding this past weekend here in Detroit and I met a young farmer who grows corn and soy beans. He and his one partner work 1600 acres. Two men working 1600 acres! Modern technology makes that possible. In the mid-nineteenth century, I believe that 50 acres was the typical size of a farm for a single farmer. I believe that many, many young men today have a temperament that would be best suited for farm work. They want to work outdoors and to be self-supervising. Unfortunately, there is no need for them on farms anymore, and so they must find other work that does not particularly suit them.

Love to watch your dogs work! My whole life I wondered why the sheep would flee from dogs they saw all the time. (I was raised around corn, not livestock.). Then I watched Kate and Echo and Storm-and it took about one tenth of a second to see them running low to the ground for primal recognition of a fast, lethal predator moving toward prey to register with me. I still feel amazed that the "good girl" transposes to a rocket-propelled low, lean member of the hunting wolf pack within a few steps!
