SC2 is a competition in itself. Tournaments are a monetized side competition. Not participating doesn't affect someone's skill. That's like saying someone is 6" shorter than a calibrated tape says unless they use your measuring tape.

True enough. However, there is the psycological factor that participating in live tournaments has on players. The pressure can affect you differently in contex, as well as the hpur shift and exhaustion, which can hinder a players skill.

@@lvo9197 Agreed. It's like measuring someone's height with a 45 lb plate balanced on their head and they're allowed to stand on their tiptoes. It's a different thing with some of the same elements. According to Aligulac, he's the 2nd best player in the world after Serral. So Arty not giving him credit for top 3 Protoss is ridiculous. He has a winning record against basically everyone; plus, everyone has a good idea what he's going to do before the game starts.

@@kugeltmg Yes, but the fact is competing in offline tournaments is considered the pinnacle of professional esports. That's why we see plenty of players underperform offline compared to their online performances, the biggest example of this being Maru, who has beaten Serral in the past online but never offline in finals. So long as Maxpax doesn't compete offline, his #2 spot will never be considered completely legit. That's just how things are.

Serral is the goat there is no more denying that

I'm not sure which series this was, and I'll watch it and see what happens, but just factually: Gabe basically can't beat MaxPax at all anymore. The record in the last year or so is extremely brutal.

Like a broken record on MaxPax not doing LANS to put him down, but happy to use his stats to justify protoss not being under powered.

Do you even watch SC2? And u casted gsl??? Maxpaxx has been farming heromarine for the past 3 years. And you seem to not know the builds and have no idea what’s going on. Game 1 hero marine was never ahead. Game 2 he hit a lucky scv pull cheese. Scv pulls are extremely hard for Protoss to deal with.

Yeah, Artosis is out of date. MaxPax is currently the best protoss player.

What was he wrong about exactly? You need to win big LAN competitions to be truly considered the best. Anyone can perform well from the comfort of their home.
