I've had the Mevo+ for over a year now. Wonderful! You hit on all the pros and cons! For the price and what it does....absolutely fantastic! It wonderful to see my actual rounds translate perfectly to what I see on Flightscope.

My brother has downloaded the update and wow, the information is fantastic. Swing path, attack angle, it even shows if the shaft is correct for you. Answer to the battery life is to carry a battery pack with you.

Thanks Sophie, 2yrs now watching Mevo+ videos since I purchased Jan-2020, your review was spot on, complete and thoroughly enjoyed. I agree completely, Mevo+ is the answer for working on your swing and the 6 courses for E6 is adequate. I find many golfers want variety playing many golf courses, well as many of us know, if you know the golf course, you know what shots to hit, when you been to hit them. In my opinion, they way to improve your game so whenever to hit on a real course, you have solidified what's required to hit many shots. Going to look at your other videos, I enjoy your delivery and content.

Great review Sophie! You covered everything a future buyer needs to know! I’ve had mine for 3 months and love it. Mine is connected to the PC but so easy to connect to the iPhone/iPad as well. Thx for the heads up on the video capture. I completely forgot about that option.

Great review! I have started using the Pro package and the added parameters on club path and face angle has actually improved my game a bit. I still need to get more consistent but the Mevo+ has been a great help. So good to see your comparison results with TM4. Would also love to see your comments on the added Pro package data.

I have a Mevo+ and the Pro Pkg (an extra $900 USD) and love it. This is a great review and I've watched several on KZread. Belonging to a Facebook group, I understand the Mevo+ doesn't do as well with higher clubhead speeds, but a 75 yr male (8.6 hcp index), my speeds and club distances are a lot more like the average LPGA pros. Incidentally, I've found that a battery pack (from amazon) will extend your practice session with Mevo+ longer than the battery charge on an iPad will last.

I have mevo+ and ground firmness makes a big difference for total distance. And thanks for the test!

V comprehensive review. Well done

There's a very clear explanation for differences in head speed. Each unit measures it at different points in the swing. Flightscope measures at the last instant before impact with the ball Trackman measures at the point of maximum ball compression, which is the instant after impact At the point of maximum compression, some momentum has been transferred from the club to the ball, so the club head will have slowed slightly. This is why Flightscope will always report a slightly higher club speed than Trackman.

Same with GC quad. My club head is 112 with a driver on quad but 106 on trackman. Both are obviously good though but it was confusing when I first went to trackman until I realised why.

@@jesusrevus8017 the best part is that exact club head speed is really not necessary it’s like a weight scale. It doesn’t have to be médica grade. As long as it’s consistent you can’t track your progress. Angle of attack , dynamic loft , smash factor , ball speed are all much more important imo

Very nice review. I skipped around a bit but if you didn’t mention Titleist RCT balls, they replace needing those metallic dots and spin is very reliable, I average 1 in 12 estimated spin.

I bought the Bushnell Launch Pro as it works great in my limited space den setup as well as outdoors.

Fantastic review. I didn't have the opportunity to perform a head-to-head comparison of the $20k vs Mevo+, just knowing that I was not going to spend $20k. I purchased the Mevo+ and have been very happy with it. The Fusion update helped with putting and chipping results.

Are you able to keep it plugged in so it last longer then 90 mins? that just seems a really short amount of time. Also do you play round of golf on it in a sim?

Helpful comparison. I’ve had it for nearly 18 months for indoor use and it’s been worth the investment many times over. Couple items - you noted the importance of the dots when using indoors. You are correct. In spite of that, your iron shots still did not directly measure the spin. When the number is shown in italics type, that means the unit calculated the spin. You may still want to play around with the setup until you are consistently getting measured spin. It will make a difference for clubs such as wedge through 6-7 iron. My unit always underestimates spin when it is not able to measure it. And that underestimation causes the computer to calculate longer carry compared to reality. - you are spot on to look at carry and ball speed. I wish more reviewers understood this. Thank you! - Especially thanks for mentioning the human error element. The unit provides a lot of options for settings that affect the way the ball flight will be calculated. It’s worth it to take the time and understand those nuances. - next challenge? Add the “pro package” 😀

@@Griswald2000 I am not using it for hi-res course play. Mostly for practice. I have the Awesome Golf lifetime license, which I feel is a no brainer for me at $350. I occasionally use the iOS e6 courses that come with It.

So glad you like it, because I got one.:-) I think it will help me improve, but I really wanted it for the simulator I am building.

Another great review Sophie. This is an awesome piece of kit for the price and I am sure would be a valuable addition to the bag of low handicappers or professional golfers. As something of a hacker I would only buy one if I won Lotto. But before I did I would want to know if you could change the voice? I would want your voice to make it perfect 😁

Decent review. I've got a mevo + myself and it's a brilliant peice of kit. I've not upgraded it yet but will. Only thing to mention with the review is it played down only having 5 courses. Which I think does it a massive Injustice. It comes with a license of E6 for 5 courses but also has the practice ground for Chipping and pitching. Nothing else does this either so it's a big deal if you were looking at an indoor sim. Overall it's a real bargain and doesn't feel like a compromise either.

And to add insult to injury, The 5 courses are only available to Apple users as there is no Android version of e6. That means, as an Android user you are either paying for a piece of software you can't use (and are not offered an alternative) or you spend even more money to get an iPad to use e6. It would nice if they offered 'equivalent value' to Android users. That said, it wasn't enough of a deterent to stop me buying a Mevo+ with Pro Package. I just stumped-up for TGC2019 and won't (ever) bother with e6.

Sophie: I found that Ernest Sports B 1 launch monitor ticks all the boxes and the price is only % 550. For a golfer who is not scrach and loaded and wants to improve...this unit works very well and give you all the data you need to get better...

It’s just as I found as well. I own a mevo + but play track man a lot an my numbers are the same except club speed. BUT trackman has a slight different way of measuring where the club is faster hence the difference. 😁

Would love to see this same video, but compare driver and wedge numbers also. I've heard stories of faster swing speeds can cause driver issues and wedge spin goes all over the place. Also would love this with a mevo+ vs skytrak!

It is good that we have had this review I would love a MEVO+ , my budget stretched to a Garmin R10 £500, R10 practice wise E6,awesome golf software APPS driving range offers tweaking outside to inside adjustment. Also a RADAR unit. Which has proved it self outdoors, but like all RADARs wants lots of soft walls to absorb reflection. At £1900 it still a big cost, for an indoor set up allow £3-4000 too for Gaming PC, projector, screen.

You are right that it is expensive but I think at this moment In time this is the entry level to the more professional launch monitors. This with club data for 3k the next thing up is the gc3 for 7k that’s more then Double

I have the Mevo Plus love it. Just contemplating opting for the Pro package update

Bit pricy eh. £1k in UK. Does the upgrade make it more precise or dies it just give it more details. If i bought one and didn't buy the update..would i still get accurate readings?

I would like to see the accuracy of the distance. It would take a lot of shots to average out the wind but this would be great to see.

Thanks for the fantastic video! Im curious as it's not mentioned in the video - in the comparison between the trackman and flightscope, how did the face angle and path numbers compare? I am very close to pulling the trigger on a Mevo+ with the pro package. As a professional golfer, I think i can adjust carry distances if needed. However I would like to use this device to work on wedge carry distances and to keep my swing on plane and to also track angle of attach etc. Any info would be fantastic. Thanks!

GREAT Video!! SO good, the flightscope mevo+ 2023 is going to shake up the game! They have made it even more accurate and the new software with face impact location is amazing!! Best product I saw at the PGA Show 2023 hands down. To me indoors it is better than Trackman (i know please dont go crazy on me lol) , but it is , I spent over an hour in the flightscope booth and Trackman booth and flightscope 100 percent will miss less shots than Trackman does, even outdoors the flightscope rarely misses, and Trackman is all over the place. For the money difference to me it is a no brainer , is Flightscope mevo+ worth $2000 ?? Absolutely it is , (you do have to buy some ADD ONS to get impact location and the Pro package, but still under $3500 all in) hands down the best personal launch monitor in this price range when you take into account the software is LIGHT YEARS ahead of Foresight (I have been using forsesight for years) . I’m very glad that I bought the Mevo plus before Christmas when I had the $200 off coupon. Every review I’ve seen of this supports the reason why I bought it. I use it as a home simulator and I am looking forward to taking it out on the practice range. Great review! Very thorough and gave a lot of great tips and insights.

I am setting my sim up this week and will be using the mevo plus. Have you bought any third party apps for it? If so, would you recommend what you bought or something else?

You can also use a battery pack with this for longer sessions, Just use the included cable not a aftermarket one.

Really helped getting the comparison. Would you get the Pro Package add on for the Mevo plus, with Club Path, Face orientation etc, seems worth it for Club information for the better players/Pros.

Great video !! I head the most trouble come when you have a high speed swing. I would love to have another comparison with an hard hitter (Like Mister Peter Finch :) )

All radar based monitors struggle with high swing speed indoor. There simply isn’t enough ball flight time for perfect calculations. Outdoor it is very close to trackman with high swing speed. Indoor even trackman struggles.

I believe the trackman takes club head speed at the point of compression while the flight scope takes club speed at the point of impact. Trackman usually reads a couple mph slower than other monitors, including gcquad.

Not something for the average golfer but I really enjoyed the comparison. With your contacts Sophie I'm sure the pros will appreciate that video. 👍👏

If you are a average golfer playing off 0-36 handicap and hit balls into a net you will better your game weekly. I play off 7 and have owned a Mevo+ for about a wk now, This is exactly what a average golfer needs(skytrack,Mevo, what ever launch monitor you can afford). AOA...Angle of Attack, now knowing this with each club and watching my flight and working on set yardages in your backyard or garage WOW , Buddy, 26 handicap players are taking 10 shots of there games with in months.

@@bentottle917 Oh ok, I hear you, cost of living here in Australia is getting out of hand as well. And yes 2k for the unit is cheap for the data it gives, but you can triple that price and more to use it to it's full potential in Simulator.

Can you do the full SwingKit? vs trackman. how bad would the differences be without the silver dot?

I’ve had a SkyTrak for the last 4 years and have had ongoing problems with it NOT catching shots and having a hard time connecting Wi-Fi for course play. I am seriously looking at the Mevo+ for my indoor practice area. My question would be…do those silver dots have a problems sticking to the ball?

I was at my local course driving range one day. I usually carry my driver 200-220 yards. I shoot the flags with slope, and the longest flag was 220 uphill. I was hitting in front of that flag, and rolling uphill past the flag. A fellow came up next to me and set up a launch monitor. He hit his driver, and the ball did not reach the flag. The launch monitor said, 285 yards. It went on like that until I left. I wonder if this guy comments on Internet groups that he hits his driver around 300 yards.

What monitor it was probably one of the cheaper ones like rapsódo or garmin. I take my mevo plus to the range and it’s very spot on. I laser my ranges as well

What about horizontal launch angle? Yards offline? Sidespin?

i see that the MEVO Plus has a screw in stand connections, does this launch monitor work if its elevated in the air via a tripod stand or will it only capture data from the the ground stand?

How did AOA compare on the two launch monitors ?

Do you have comparisons of launch monitors for the outside . My concern is the outside ranges , or on course, the ball flight outside , not in a net or screen .the ball flight is different inside then the outside , testing clubs at a golf shop, they say there is a 10 to whatever yardage difference , is that a thing or !so what is the better launch monitor for ranges to get more accurate readings

What Typ and version of the iPad are you using for the test?

Key question: what about face and path data? Also where contact is being made on clubface??

I think the best bang for buck right now would still be the Garmin R10

Why didn't you use Titleist RCT balls for the test? There were test shots that showed estimated spin on Trackman....think we should be mindful of the accuracy of this test

hmm. Seems to me that you pay the premium price of trackman for just the name. If youre a pro, sure trackman and quad are a better choice. But as an amatuer, you should not be worried about 2 mph club speed, and 3 yards of difference. lol Cant wait for my Mevo to show up

@@glennwisse6271 I think he meant both Fusion Tracking AND Pro Package, Glenn. Given the timing of the review I'm assuming Sophie had updated the firmware to have Fusion Tracking. Pro Package is additional (purchased) software and even though Sophie didn't mention it, she seems to have that also as her data tiles were displaying club data you can only get with the Pro Package.

Mevo is awesome they just need a pc app.

Are you aware of the accuracy of the Mevo vs the Mevo+?

I think titleist do a “radar” ball so you don’t need the dots.

@@kevochanner8859 I have a Garmin R10 (radar based), and the RCT balls don’t work at all…they are specifically made to work with Trackman, so not sure if there is any proprietary metal they use to do that…not sure if it works with other radar based units.

How did the Angle of Attack compare between the two devices?

If using outside only, does it still require the dots on the balls?

im using the R10 in my garage, is there a minimum space requirement?

You need at least 15 feet (7 feet Mevo to ball, 8 feet ball to net). My setup is right at the minimum and it works pretty well!

Absolute no Brainer. 2k Mevo+ is .2-3% difference in only a couple stats but $18,000 less. Absolute no brainer unless you're a professional coaching studio.

I was looking to get a simulator setup before this snake poison hoax affected my work by being stood down without pay (for refusing the experimental medical procedure that is now showing VAIDS and a myriad of adverse reactions:) Keen to learn more about the courses included?
