Back in my college days in Beijing 20 years ago, we use to ride in those van style taxi all the time when compete in basketball with other schools, it was dirt cheap, 1.5 usd per 10km cab fare, fit 5-6 guys, this review brought back some great memories, thanks Tom.

I am original from tianjin . This van taxi was very popular in the '90s because of its size. We call it bread car. At that time, most of the families in my hometown couldn't afford personal cars. People often use the taxi to move stuff. My mom rode a bike to pick me up at primary school. when it was raining, Mom put the bike and me in the rear compartment。 My older brothers drove this car to fight with local gangsters, and the sliding door was super easy to come out and leave. Now I still remember the sound of the door, it means something would happen. 大发(dafa)means big fortune in Chinese. Tianjin DAFA TJ110 was present that Chinese self-employed businesses increased after China joined APEC in 1991.

The mystery machine will be my first paint job.Pity you can't fit figures in there,but a small play around should fix that.We are modelers after all.

I gotta admit, the exhaust battery locking latch its pretty creative, I'm just gonna wait if WPL comes out with a white version, otherwise this is a really cool model with amazing scale details.

This one is definitely not for me but I did enjoy watching Tomley have a go with it and enjoying himself I always say if it puts a smile on your face you must be having fun and that's what matters at the end of the day ✌️

I am definitely getting one of these...I saw on one of their ads on facebook asking for suggestions as for another model we'd like for them to produce and I had said a van..lol..little did I know they had one in the wings already made...and here it is....My next suggestion to them is a Mini Cooper..the Old style...I'd Love to see that happen as well.

If you want to make a drift car, you can change the rim + tire with tamiya Mchasis or you can make a 3D print wheels, its more fun! :)

That's sooooò coool I would be fitting a sound system in it and blast out some tunes whilst drifting

just got mine last week, i dont care if "real" hobbypeople dont want anything to do with cheap rc stuff but they are missing out! so easy to swap out the cheaper electronics for a "proper" system, not even any need to swap out the servo, just plug n play!

😂 Phil you should of done an epic edit where you fell and disappeared into the box.. oh these are cool a good company pair with the D12

The pronunciation "Tianjin DAFA" on 0:52 is almost right. This taxi car was produced in cooperation with Tianjin Auto company and Japan Daihatsu Auto. By the way, “DAFA” in madrine means" make a big fortune".

@@TomleyRC it’s not the waiting time. I need to pay VAT, that’s ok it’s not expensive. But the carrier demands $40 in handling fee for the VAT and then it becomes s lot more expensive

Why are people so bloody rude? Of course, viewers are entitled to their opinions but there is no need for rudeness. As far as I'm concerned Mr Tomley RC is a great channel, it is one of a few "Go--to-Channels" I check before I purchase. Were these Hondas or Daihatsu's or both?

Love your videos and bought one off the back of this vid 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻So disappointed with hermes they left my box out on the street 2 days ago with mine and it was stolen, really hoping wpl can help me contact them as well, the photo of the box was pristine though lol.. so gutted, happy i ordered direct these guys have my thumbs up just from the response and shipping time.. cant stand hermes, second parcel they hsve done this with in a year 😠
