    Its really just natural strength and years of hard work. Most of our "strength" comes from our "core" and not from big muscles. Most people at the gym are inflated balloons full of supplements, protein powder and steroids. Real men use real food and many years of hard-work to build deeper levels of strength. I do same weights as my bigger friends.

    Its a CNS thing two people can have total different strength despite having same muscle mass simply due to different neuro muscular activation. You training regime is also different when you train for increased mass vs increased strength.

    He is a powerlifter. Powerlifters and Olympic weightlifters tailor their workouts for strength rather than for size, while bodybuilders tailor them for size. All of them do more or less the same exercises, but it all depends on number of reps per set, number of sets, and frequency of exercise per week.

    The name of the game in powerlifting is to be as strong as possible while being as small as possible to stay in your weight class. Elite power lifters are absolute FREAKS. Egos be damned.

    I love these videos and there's always something he says that cracks me up. In this, it's around the 10mins mark when he asked the guy if it's an exercise for the back, then he asks "for your back or my back?" It's such a ridiculous question but not unusual for an older person that I love it.

    Great video's, I did something similar at a gym I'm 62 don't look at all your typical bodybuider but I'm strong and deadlift is something I'm good at, so these guys all much younger were having a dead competition, I was watching until they all failed at this weight, I walker over and asked if I could have a go knowing full well I could do it, they were all saying your a bit old and so on but just lifted the weight with no trouble and held it for about 5 seconds, they were so shocked, the lesson being never judge a book by the cover.

    These vids are so entertaining. I am an old man. 69 in a few days. I've had to drop down to 45kg in the past few years due to lockdowns, having covid 3 times. Lost a lot of gains as couldn't work out for long periods & now I'm older it's harder to catch back up. These do inspire me to want to get back in more often though. Also very funny indeed.
