Craziest Underwater Footage I've Ever Captured (Ice Fishing For Pike)
What a wild few days ice fishing in Northern Manitoba. Big Northern Pike were the goal at Cormorant Lake, we got that and a LOT more excitement along the way. I still can't believe what we captured on the underwater camera. Thanks for watching!

🤣. I am curious how the otter got out there to his bait. It must have seen an auger 🕳 and used it to explore. I typically punch a tennis court size area of holes 10 ft apart until I set my shack up
Jay is such a blessing to the outdoor community. He always has such a beautiful way of publishing his content. I don't know how to explain it it just makes me happy.

Glad the Nates Baits worked out for you! Thanks for the shout out buddy. Absolutely love the underwater footage , and must say I would have loved to see your reaction if that otter had come up the hole...... preferably inside the tent😂

Last year I had a pike come up and stick its nose out of my hole! Edit: a friend fished that same spot that week and it did it to them too!

This sounds like where i need to be. I live in Massachusetts, USA i work my ass off over the spring and summer to take my winter off. I ice fish all over Massachusetts, Maine, New York, New Hampshire and Vermont. Last year i went out to Minnesota and North Dakota. Ice fishing is my life. Hope you have a great season this year.
Caught a 42 incher at Alexander lake in Alaska. Too much fun. Nice fish guys
You’re welcome for the bait 😊

That was the coolest underwater footage to date. Looked like a great day on the ice also. Good luck this season looking forward to some new videos.
What a great video ,especially the camera shots. Getting fired up for 2022- 2023 season. Thanks so much. Stay safe and tight lines.
That is the greatest underwater clip I have ever seen! What a tank!
Jay you never cease to give us some quality art! Keep up the hard work!
AN OTTER... UNDERWATER SMASHING YOUR BAIT! UNREAL! That was insane. Great video all around, too.
Wow awesome job saving the footage to get us amped up for this ice season. You do a really nice job with your content and I always enjoy it. Thank you. More Aaron Wiebe would be nice though 🤷♂️
Sweet! Another awesome ice adventure to close out last season
Nothing Like Any Fishing in Northern Manitoba Keep Up The Great Content
Love the color patterns on those big northerns.
Great video Jay! The footage of the river otter is crazy! Makes you wonder about all the “big fish that got away stories.”

The underwater footage of those Lunkers are indeed spectacular. True trophies swim just beyond your backyard. I sit here in MN floating on waves of envy, looking forward to The Hard Water here 2023. Cheers.

Gotta be grateful, Wisconsins got a great culture and season of ice fishing, but MNs got us beat in ice fishing. Someone from Illinois or Iowa would be envious of me I guess lmao. Don’t have us beat in much else though, besides NFC North this year too I suppose.

Awesome job dude! Congrats!
One day this old southern Gulf Coaster will get to do this, looks super fun.
Jay and Brandon, better than Hollywood. Love big pike on the underwater camera. Ahhhh, I just saw the bonus guest!!
Great episode as always
Beautiful colours!!
Love the pike videos!! You need to do more.
Awesome video my man! The suspense! But also the color grading on this video is slick. The blacks are so creamy
Great underwater videos! So cool to see them gators chomping on the bait. The Otter at the end... 😆 love it!
Love your content keep it up
Such an awesome lifetime video capture.
Excited to try some catch and cook always love a new fish fry recipe.
The interaction with Nate may have been the most Mennonite ever. Trading goods lol, I love it. Keep up the awesome stuff Jay
Right on fellas. Can't wait to get out on the ice
That is gnarly jay… I have had muskrats chew through my line open water fishing but nothing like that…great video
Your channel appeared in my timeline, nice :) . Ive always fished but never ice fish. Cheers m8 and Aww the best from Scotland
As soon as those fish were nose down I was thinking whites feeding off the bottom. Nice job!
600th LIKE!! That Otter at the end was insane lol You guys wrecked the Big Northern Pike! Im going to get some of those I Fish Pros this year and try them! Thanks for the videos Jay!
Hello Jay left a like and good luck ice fishing and keep up the good work on the video
That was the most entertaining pike bite!
OMG A OTTER LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤🤘 TOO FLIPPIN COOL. THAT WHITEFISH LOOKED SOOO GOOD. GREAT VIDEO🤘🎣😊
Nicely done!
Here's what I do when fishing for northern here in north Dakota I push the hook through the bait and then too the leader I haven't lost one yet. Thanks for sharing this video
EPIC EATS JAY 🐊
Man that’s unreal!! Didn’t expect that haha
This brought back some memories. My father and I spent a lot of time on lake Cormorant when the only way to get there was to fly in back in the early '60s. (I'm 76). There was a small bunch of cabins that passed for a fishing camp on one of the islands then. You have to be prepared for anything when your only ride home waves goodby and tells you he'll see you in a week. I'm not sure how big the pike got back then, but a 50-inch muskie would have been pretty standard. The keeper limit minimum was 36 inches.
Beautiful!
Can’t wait to be done the semester. Ice fishing daily
Clayton's been giving you notes. ;)
INSANE!!!! LIKE WHAT????
amazing video
So cool to get that on film. Never had them hit my baits but have had them swim up my holes and push my tip ups up ans out of the hole!
Unreal!!
Thats insane
Crazy stuff!
awsome video and the fish handling skills are super
That last clip was insane, I just ordered a aqua vu because of that lol
I spent a week or so at Simon's in November 2017 when I was working near comorant building a transmission line(Bi-pole III). We stayed there due to the hotels being full in The Pas. I was right at home, cabins were really nice and cozy. I did not realize just how close I was to some of these great fishing lakes.
Great fishing guys...got a 51.75 inch pike last March in a rockie mountain lake...took me 45 years to finally get a pike over 50...lost my nut...keep at it Jay...yours is coming 😀 👍 From my very frozen igloo on the mountain in alberta...D
I fish up near tramping at the end of may and beginning of June every year. We went on June 1st and there was still ice on Reed and Wekusko. My favorite place on earth.
Jay, can you create a vid on how you tie your own quick strike rigs? If you’ve done it already, post the link please!! Great content!
Awesome!
Sweet !
Great footage. What a giant pike. Is there musky in that lake too?
I’m in southern Ontario right on Lake simcoe and some winters we don’t even get a full freeze over
That was fantastic ! I never caught a otter on a 3 prong treble hoook , buy I have brought a muskrat.... That was crazy enough in the tent !!
Arrons spirit animal
Awesome
My favorite KZread channel out here man!! I have a question I hope you can answer..! I run a pantastick, meat locker, and the mr big for our big Michigan northerners. Is it ok to run a bait caster reel on that mr big?? Or would you just recommend a 1000 size spinning?
Awesome!!!😂
Otterly cool vid. It would probably have been a bad situation if he came up that hole!
What brand of fishing line and what pound test do you recommend for walleye fishing especially for a rod that I will be setting up on an ice Pro 2?
what pound test are you using? And what camera?? Awesome stuff!
I’ve caught a lot of pike on hotdogs!.. Probably my favorite bait for pike.
Hey Jay. What pole is that for your livescope? Another killer vid 👌
I like the trees there❤❤❤😢❤❤❤
Beautifull PIKE.. Absolutely beautiful and you have to use Portuguese hearing or it's called Portuguese sardines.... And it's also so fun to do on tip UPS.... You guys have to try the big white shell lodge
The old otter bandit.
In searching Amazon, I found the camera you use as well as another one which had a quad camera lens. Each lens would show what direction that lens is facing. It was about $500 more than the camera you were using. Do you think that upgrade would be worthwhile or is just turning the single lens like you have around good enough? Thank you so much for your time.
Nice !
will you have a vid from you recent visit with taro? saw his fb post. if so ill be looking forward to it
Sasaginnigak is where you can catch a 50-inch pike. I've caught 2 over 40 and saw one on the surface that made them look like babies
28:03 bird Flies by!
Jay, what style of costas are those?
Can one use braid line I use for my summer fishing rods for pike on my ice gear?
What costas are you rocking Jay?
I kinda wish you pulled the otter up!! Would of been some interesting content!!😂
"What fish noses down like that?" Aaron Wiebe had a short clip a while back of a whitefish cruising by the camera nose down along the bottom. Now you've seen the same thing.
Good pay out at the end
Jay, I despise you for this awesome footage on behalf of all us dad's whose wives won't let us go fishing lol
Would of been cool to see otter swim up hole lol , and Jay screaming uncut haha
I'm from Minnesota in the states and we get like 6 months of winter here
I've had name brand treble hooks break like that. One was on a fish and the other was on a sunken log or rock. It happens, but not that often. Best part is when it breaks off in the fish it'll fall right out
Upstate NY we avg about 38-42 is a good catch but ours are much thinner than your Pike.
Jay can you do a Ice jacket or suit breakdown?
I've broke hooks like that. Also bent trible hooks like that. For big pike big bait . Harden steel hooks the best.
Otter.. seal of the lake 😉
What reels do you use for pike? Looking for a new one
what is the name of the company that made the plastic trunk on the back of your snowmobile?
Is that leeches or eels hanging off that bottom back fin at 18:45 ???
Hand over hand tip ups a great… if your in a hut. I always end up messing with frozen line after
If you want a 50" pike go check out Brabant Lodge on the Mackenzie River in the NWT. I guided there back in 2006 and we had days where we were catching 150+ pike in a day including multiple 50"+ pike... that place was NUTS for BIG and LONG pike!!! Biggest I personally saw was 52"... longest pike caught in 2006 was 54 1/2"
