Capitalism thrives on competition. This drives competition. You seem to have a skewed idea of what capitalism is. Capitalism is not a dirty four letter word. Capitalism (for profit systems) drive innovation and ingenuity. These things are lost under socialism and communism.

I really liked this. I do not understand why this does not occur to more people. I did something like this. I needed a squat rack in my apartment and had limited space. I picked up about $20 in lumber and $10 in decking screws and built a custom rack to suit my needs perfectly. I used it for years and it safely held over 400 lbs.1 thing he forgot to mention in the video though. The value of being a carpenter... Priceless.

Mad props to you for this home gym. You have quite a few really cool pieces that offer more than an expensive machine would. Truly customized for your fitness goals. Even if price wasn't an issue, this is still a really cool route to go for a personalized home gym. I have come across a lot of homemade gym equipment and it is, a majority of the time, a lackluster type of build. Your basic squat rack and what not. But you broke the mold. You designed pieces that I have never come across before, especially for being homemade.... Built not bought!!

This is so damn epic!!! I can't wait to build my own home gym just like this when I have a home. My dad has all the essential power tools (band saw, miter/glide bosch saw, drill press, table saw, etc) Thank you for putting this video up! If I can still luck out on FB marketplace on some used equipment I might do that, but still will have this in mind. The only thing that would be the the cherry of all cherries on top (not criticizing here) is the wooden pulley system I think I'd want to try to replicate a nautilus cam design, like the inventor Arthur Jones, by using a band saw i guess. I wonder if it's even possible to dig up plans and replicate the exact curvature, but somewhere near it might be good enough. This was no less awesome to watch though! I can't wait to watch the rest of your videos!

That’s an amazing job brother! This is extremely impressive! It is well beyond anything I would ever do. So I am not at all trying to diminish this amazing project. It is amazing! Specifically regarding the cost comparison, the cost for anything is the total costs of materials + tools + time + labor. The money saved on this project included not needing to spend any money on tools that presumably were already owned or were borrowed, time that was available or scheduled, and your own and/or other free labor (both mental and physical). THAT is what makes this so impressive!👍🏽
