    And even if they did understand, would it really be such a big problem? Children aren't harmed by the suggestion of sex or even accidentally seeing it when adults watch series. I would be way more okay with children accidentally seeing a sex scene from game of thrones than a beheading, because they understand pain and violence, but not sex.

    Fun fact about the Telletubbies entry: They had to scrub SEVERAL episodes from syndication over that bit. Because they figured "Oh, dur, they're just dumb preschoolers with the average memory span of a goldfish, they won't recognize a rerun" and cut costs by recycling their "magical event" moments across multiple episodes. So when it finally hit the fan on them, they couldn't just pull one episode from reruns and continue business as usual. They had to go through the whole library in search of every single time they'd used it.

    That Simpsons episode kicked ass. I loved it. Not only does homer meet a man who believes hes Michael Jackson but he really was voiced by him. Michael had a pretty good humor to voice such a character with his characteristics. Removing that episode because of a 2019 Netflix special was dumb asf. The accusations were already out YEARS before that went to Netflix, way before the 2000s and it never got removed so why wait till 2019 to do something about it. That episode was awesome and "happy birthday lisa" was 🔥

    You’re incorrect. I remember in the late 60’s early 70’s when I was at primary school, the teacher telling us children how some people were trying to ban cartoons. The reason was apparently that people were worried that kids would think that if they ran off a cliff then they wouldn’t fall, like Road Runner etc could do. Also, the violence in Loony Tunes was too much for these idiots.

    Saturday morning TV was incredible here in the UK. So good that you'd be up at 6:30-7:00am to watch the earliest shows. Your have all the great cartoons, crazy live shows that occasionally got 'adult' because someone slipped up or decided to play a prank during a phone-in. There's one kids show that I can't remember the name of, but it was full of swearing but you wouldn't know because the characters' dialogue was spoken in gibberish. It was a great time to be a kid!

    The reason Rude Removal was pulled but not Sailor Mouth is because in Sailor Mouth, it’s more ambiguous what the characters are actually saying. Rude Removal on the other hand makes it more obvious with the context so if someone watched this, they could still tell exactly what was being said even with the censorship being placed in.

  • @StacieMMeier

    @StacieMMeier

    Ай бұрын

    Rude Removal was a joke episode for a convention, it was never meant to be shown on TV. Technically it isnt banned (Not in the USA at any rate). Only reason it is known now is because of clubs (of show) and one of the creators of the episode released it to general public by way of internet. Sailor Moon is heavily edited in both EU and NA. The original version (Japanese Version) of Sailor Moon was never intended for children. When it came to both UK and USA it was made into a children anime. Some of first original Japanese version are nearly impossible to find now. Even the "Original" Japanese versions have themselves been edited and released with that edit in Japan.

    I remember being scared of a bear in a "Magical Event." Now, this isn't the bear mentioned in this video, but rather another bear. The bear lived in a ufo carousel and danced around. It was scary as the bear had horrible CGI and looked creepy. The worst part is that this segment WASN'T BANNED. Seriously. Watch for yourself and see the horrors on display. And the worst part? This would repeat sometimes right after it finishes. Luckily, the scene only lasts about a minute and a half, but you never know if the bear would be called down again. That's two scary bears in similar segments.

    What a lot of people forget about the "One Beer" episode is that, after the segment ends and the screen fades to black, it comes back on with Buster, Hampton and Plucky in wardrobe removing the angel costumes and commenting on it. I think it was Hampton saying that the episode was a little over the top while Buster counters with "Yeah, I know it was - but how ELSE are going to get our message across?". And I personally agree with that - sometimes you have to make people uncomfortable to get them to understand.

    Jackson was subject to a witch hunt, just because a few parents saw $$$. I agree with McCauley Culkin in a video I watched recently. He said nothing ever happened between him and Jackson. Michael felt more comfortable around kids because he was robbed of his childhood. He related to them as equals, not as a creepy adult.

    I saw both of those episodes of Pigu, but trust me those are the least of the worst. The worst episode had to be when Pingu met his seal friend. At first they were messing with each other but pingu didn't enjoy it so he got back at him. He put ice covers over the holes so the seal couldn't escape and trick him. When the seal tried to push the cover, pingu crushed his flipper with with the ice cover. He literally bullied and tortured the heck out of the seal. So, if there was an episode that needed to be banned, that would be it.
