#CrashTestDummies #Androgynous
Lyrics:
Here comes Dick, he's wearing a skirt
Here comes Jane you know she's sportin' a chain
Same hair, a revolution
Same build, evolution
Tomorrow who's gonna fuss?
And they love each other so, androgynous
Closer than you know, love each other so, androgynous
We'll don't get him wrong, and don't get him mad
He might be a father but he sure ain't a dad
And she don't need the advice that is sent to her
She's happy the way she looks, she's happy with her gender
And they love each other so, androgynous
Closer than you know, love each other so, androgynous
Mirror image, see no damage, see no evil at all
Cupie dolls and urine stalls will be laughed at
The way you're laughed at now
Something meets boy and something meets girl
They both look the same they're overjoyed in this world
Same hair revolution
Unisex evolution
Tomorrow who's gonna fuss?
And tomorrow Dick is wearing pants
Tomorrow Jane is wearing a dress
Future outcasts and they don't last
And today people dress the way that they please
The way they tried to do in the last centuries
And they love each other so, androgynous
Closer than you know, love each other so, androgynous

I absolutely love late 80’s, early 90’s Canadian pop music. Growing up in my house we had much music on constantly. And they played so much good music. These guys, barenaked ladies, cowboy junkies, the odds, 54-40, the hip etc. music was so genuine and pure. This song and swimming in your ocean were my favs by ctd. So good. Warms your heart. And how relevant is this song now with people identifying however they want. So freakin ahead of it’s time. Peace & love

When I was a little kid listening to this song, I had no idea what androgenous meant (and was too lazy to look it up), and I was also conditioned to believe the song title is always in the song. So when the chorus came along and I could only hear "Closer than you know, love each other so, it drives you nuts" I always wondered why the song title wasn't in the song anywhere. tl;dr kids are idiots

Did you happen to notice what happened in the black community when the father's and the traditional male role models they played were removed from the family unit? Chaos and instability...Transgender"ism" is a mental illness that we're supposed to pretend is no big deal. Now a guy in a bikini can enter the Ms. Universe pageant and that's, supposedly, normal, whilst a real woman in a bikini is considered to be used and sexually objectified. The song is perfectly insightful; recognizing that gender-bending fashions of the '80s and early '90s were relatively innocent, but predicting that they would get pushed too far, eliciting a backlash ("Tomorrow Dick's wearing pants. Tomorrow Janie's wearing a dress. Future outcasts and they don't last.") The tomorrow they predicted is here, with the backlash we're witnessing against transgenderism. A darker reading is that the pants-wearing Dick and dress-wearing Jane are the outcasts of a future dominated by degenerates, but I prefer the optimistic interpretation.

  • @squamish4244

    @squamish4244

    Жыл бұрын

@@tedatwork2343 I don't think the message has a dark side at all. I'm not sure what "Future outcasts and they don't last" means, but the negative interpretation makes no sense when you contrast it with the very clearly positive "Kewpie dolls and urine stalls will be laughed at/The way you're laughed at now". It could just mean that them being outcasts in the future won't last. Gender roles and the differences between the genders are inevitably going to narrow as society evolves and the ability to manipulate our DNA advances. Is this good? Is this bad? I don't know, but I don't think it's worth getting all that worked up over either. I think the only thing we should be concerned about is love. What helps it, what hinders it. The rest is shadows and dust. I know you came down on the positive side, I'm just expanding on it. I think the trans hysteria of today is overblown. A few kids here and there are gender transitioning without thinking it through. This does not equal disaster for civilization, and it's a helluva lot better than the situation we had before, when those who were authentically trans used to be murdered for their desires. A lot more kids just want to wear androgynous clothes.
