Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex - Level 4: Wizards And Lizards (Crystal/Gem/Green Gem)
The first medieval level in the game. Although it features the return of the wizards from Crash 3: Warped's medieval levels, this one takes place inside a castle, and yet this castle has some technology in it. So this level is really calling back to a couple of some of the very last levels of the very first Crash game.
This is the 4th level, and like the 4th level of Warped, Crash will get chased by some big animal. In this case, it's a huge dragon. Unlike in Crash 3's Bone Yard, where you get chased at the beginning and end of the level by a triceratops, you get chased by the dragon only during the middle of this level.
This level contains the next colored Gem: The Green Gem. So same as before, don't die while you're in this stage before you reach the platform that takes you to the Green Gem route, or you'll have to start over. However, if you died IN the Green Gem route, its platform will be fine.
So like before, I first try and get that Green Gem as soon as I can, then I kill myself so I can get back on the main route to get the Crystal and the Crate Gem, too.

The perfect theme for a Creepy Castle stage! “The Gauntlet” sounds just like a beta moment compared to W&L…
I just unlocked a hidden memory. This was nightmare fuel as a kid.

Wrath of Cortex was only okay and NK was only okay.
Basically, this game is the story of how Crash Bandicoot had take down Cleveland jr who teams up with Biff Tannen, Gunnery Sergeant Hartman, The Joker and Wakko Warner...
Well, it's certainly a lizard, just way bigger than anyone was expecting!!
I want this game to be remastered

You got it remastered!!… well, just the dragon in this level being in CTR!!
when i was albout 4 me and my mom would try so many times to beat this level but we always failed. we always messed it up at the dragon part. also i was so scared of him and tried my best ti look at the screen. i've got through him once but messed up shortly after. nevertheless my parents were proud that i've made it this far and it made me happy

Mine is different :/ The bonus level doesn't have the second ice box and the box count is 23 :/ Is it because it's on the gamecube? I haven't been able to get the last 2 boxes on the bonus level

Yeah, the PS2 has slightly different programming and certain exclusive content that the GameCube and Xbox versions don't have. For example, I think one of the songs in the Medieval world (in like World 3 or 4) has a different song in the PS2 version. The GC and Xbox versions just reuse the Gauntlet song,
