There was not a single part of the Souls game that come to this level of annoyance and difficulty. Even Malenia wasn't this difficult.

I never passed this level as a kid. I remember being so mad at it and never being able to move on in the game. 20 years later I finally did it by prancing along the ropes the whole way.

And it’s so damn easy to overshoot the jump and miss the platform, or it breaks, or you even run into the damn hogs that can’t be killed unless you have invincible Aku-Aku.

I can not describe how angry this level made me. Doing the lost city without dying was so easy after like the 10th try. But this. This makes my blood broil.

Anyone else tried walking on the rope but kept falling? I sure did.

Use the arrows instead of the joystick, easy peasy. I am stuck at the last bouncy turtle, can't get on the 3 solid wood planks...once I do that, I am rope walking until the invisible planks. Anyone know if you can rope walk at the invisible planks??👀

I'm on Switch and the only way I can pass is through the rope. The joy con analog has a cut on its border on each of the 4 directions, so you just need to hold it in the direction of the upwards cut and he'll walk through the rope just fine.

this level broke my brother. he raged for 10 minutes straight and he didn't care if he died anymore.

So they lied.

It's actually fascinating comparing this with modern top tier platformers or old school like games. I recently played Metroid Dread and Super Mario Wonder for example. While both games have challenging moments, Dread especially, I never got the feeling the game is somehow fucking with me and I never really lost my cool. And I'm in my late 30s. I figured I'm just more chill. Then I bought this Crash collection, out of nostalgia. I can't count how many times by the time I reached this level, and then during it, I lost my cool and was angrily shaking my Switch Lite or loudly cursing. And I realized it's not me being chill when I play Dread or Super Mario Wonder... it's that the games are more polished in terms of how much they frustrate, and actually after this I'm legit impressed with how amazingly precise Dread is in this regard and how it never becomes an angry chore. I tried this level like 20 times before I by accident realized I could jump on the ropes and just walk in a straight line. I am legit convinced that if I had to actually do a proper walkthrough like in this video, I would be on my 40th attempt and still working out the quirks. Like Crash 1 is some serious motherfucker of precision platforming,the game is unforgiving and nasty. It's like some forgotten dungeon gaming classic for true gamers who if they get flawless at this, reached some new gaming mastery level. I wrote something similar under a different video, Sonic Superstars I think, but I kinda half retract that comment and put it here - if someone can play this whole fucked up game from beginning to end without getting hit once, or you know maybe just not dying once, like that person should get an interview with the president or something, because that person has reflexes and senses like sharp space future cat 5000. Fucking Bridge to Nowhere.

Like. Fucking thank you. I think I tried this level over 300 times over the last few months and I kept quiting after 20 minutes of gameplay because I keep dying. Today is the first time I was able to reach the turtle and I was not able to jump to the other side when jumping on the turtle. Walking on the rope to finally beat this level is a fucking relief XD

I never jumped on the turtle, jumped on the stone, u can land on The ledger (wierdly) just time it right.. jump again and land to the rope Carefully Walk on the rope, sometimes you might want to adjust your feet to avoid falls, level beat.

Yes this level is really difficult. You beat it only with accurate jumping (the rope thing for me was more difficult). So you just have to follow the shadow of Crash and free your d-pad every time is over the spot you wanna land on. When you understand the timing of the jumps you will finish the level :) And yes it took me exactly one hour to figure that out!

Y'all are making me feel better. This level is just plain ridiculous. 24 lives + 4 game overs later, I send myself here to cope with what the actual frick just happened.

My girlfriend watched me burn through 45 consecutive lives attempting this level. That fun loving, calm and collected guy? He's dead. I'm a shadow of that man. She has witnessed profound rage as i reached the brink of my patience. At one point i removed my clothes down to my underwear and laid on the floor, pondering if life is even worth living. Tomorrow I'm going to E-mail the original developers of this level and express my pure, unadulterated contempt for their existence. My childhood nostalgia is crushed and my future seems bleak and dull from here on out. I wish nothing but the best for those that attempt this level.

It’s not cheating; it’s called thinking outside the box!

So I did this THE CRAZIEST WAY POSSIBLE... In one of my 32 attempts I aciddently jumped of the rope fencing on the side and didn't fall through, so I wanted to see is it a solid object you can move on and... It is!!! You can walk on the rope! SO THAT IS WHAT I DID!!! And it was easier than the middle route! Sure, until I got used to it I fell a bunch of times, but when I got the hang of it, I beat it very quickly, with almost no trouble! You just have to be very precise and when you manage to jump on the rope and start moving YOU MUSN'T TURN EVEN A BIT. If you manage it, it's fine. Only when there is that part when there is no solid ground between the bridges just keep moving on the road and jump over the statue head-thing and you are fine! It took me around 45 tries in total (including the time before I knew about the rope thing)! Around 25 minutes. Edit: I now see that some other people in the comments also know about this and that this is actually a strategy to do the level easier. Well I didn't know that untill i figured it out myself. Anyways, that's a free tip for ya. Bye.

The bit with the turtles drove me up the wall.

Pro tip for this level: Pay attention to his shadow when Crash jumps. If the shadow is on the plank, crash will also be! :D was a real gamechanger for me. Also: Dont use the stick, use the cross-thingie. Makes it also easier. And last but not least: you can wait about half a second on the dark planks before they collapse. So take your time and dont rush it. This half a second is precious!

I uninstalled this trilogy after this level. This amount of anger is not worth reliving my childhood

Remember thinking this was impossible back on the PSX when I was a kid.

There's something weirdly adorable about the hogs in this level remaster I mean they sit down and act like puppies if you lose a live to them.

I am so relieved to know I'm not the only one who struggles with this! Reading the comments makes me feel better. I was having trouble with a few other levels, when I reached this one I thought it can't be too bad...but it's the worst one yet!!! 😭I get as far as the bonus (after many, many tries and usually on my last life) and jump on the turtle....and fall to my doom again and again! *sigh*....

This is the level from hell! 😤it took me 656788 tries... now my left thumb is in cold water...RIP 😌

@@christian3309 If you are still stuck (which I doubt since this is 3 weeks old, lol) then try walking kn the rope instead jumping through the middle, since it is easier that way. You are gonna fall several times, but when you get the precision down, it's easier than the normal way.

I'm comforted to know I'm not the only one who saw red when playing this level.

Those bloody hogs and rust colored boards caused me to game over on this stage more than I care to admit.

Good luck fellow players. I passed it by using the ropes as much as possible. Ease on to them as carefully as you can without going over and falling. And then use the arrow directional pad instead of the analog stick to go forward. Still a bit tough, but it's possible!

This level is the definition of insanity.

Been stuck on this level an hr now. So I decided to finally look it up on yt

I have spent three hours, at least 50 lives and almost a PlayStation controller on this level

It’s damn near impossible, but you can jump and balance on the bridge ropes on your left and right. Seems more like a glitch, but it def. helps crossing those hellacious bridges.

I did this level 50 times a week ago, proper road rage and then left it. Came back today and completed it straighaway. How?? Whoever created this level is evil.

This god forsaken fucking level cost me £180 in headphones a ps5 controller and a £75 mouse fuck this level I’ve still not done it

Some advice For higher jumps Spin Then jump at the same time This will help

That last turtle at 3:30 fucks me up all the time. I can through the whole thing very fast but get to that last turtle and choke. For some reason, crash bandicoot wont jump high enough from the turtle to that brown wooden piece. Once i get to the woodpiece, i plan on just walking the ropes to the end.

Fun fact you can jump and run on the ropes circumventing the need to go over the boards, just try do it with brown boards tho

I only have 5 lives when I got to this stage and I get destroyed within the first half of this level. It’s so frustrating. I don’t think I can do this.

There is in fact a loop hole...if you do so carefully you can jump ontop of the rope bridge and carefully run along it..its all about the timing of your jump onto the robe...i was stuck on this level for 6 days until i accidentally landed on the rope

To those in 2021 or 2022 so are playing this level, I went to another level and got sky sky masks and with them the sky hogs didn’t bother me and i managed to make a lot of long jumps, may not help to much cause it last so little time, but hey, at least it’s something
