Somebody said it right. Not the Snake, Not Sox & Martin, and not Even Garlitz himself could strip the insulation off the burning red hot voltage like Jungle Jim!! Molten Lava!!!🔥 To see that Dark Blue Vega Blasting through the Dark Hollywood strip at night was Apollo Scorched earth! on way too much Nitro. That's what Jim was, A legend and a showman! I was a lucky young lad!!

JIm lived about 4 houses down from my Father in law in San Diego, who was in the Navy. Tom recounted MANY party's at the Liebermans house, that went to the wee hours, with a nitro cackle thrown in, till the cops came. ALOT of people, usually the whole block. Neat to hear the Camaro cackle, even if it was off a bit.

Good video. Jim and pam were the shit when i was a kid. Jim died when i was 17 it was my second year racing. Seeing pam made the video made the video. The owner of the car should have done the work before hand. The car ran like shit misfires and fouled plugs from storage oil and pam almost called it out but she was her kind self. The car is a trailer queen and a fraction of what it was back in the day but none the less a piece of history. I do hope on day you film the pandemonium campaigned by bill sullivan. We built that car here ken chase owned it for many years and now in a private collection. So is our ramcharger funny car. Its in a show room in south dakota side by side with another funny car. Your video and interview with pam was priceless good work.❤

Hello wow thank you so much. You know just seen this video now. I’ve only looked at it two times. It’s still gets me revved up being around the car and got to hang out and drink a cold beer with Pam and talk about some good stories. Stay tuned. I have a 10 minute interview. I have not released yet off the cuff super good talk yeah I figured it was a trailer queen what are you gonna do with a car like that but show it it is a piece of drag racing history, not NHRA history Pam was telling me the story about them not getting along NHRA and their rules so they were primarily IHRA she will elaborate on more of that on the next video I got coming out so stay tuned. I sure appreciate you and the great story and the nostalgia it brings up for people. I think it’s huge and stuff like this are what makes smiles and dreams are made of everlasting impression as a kid building models of this Funny car when I was eight years old and for me to be standing here filming this is a dream come true for me. I’m trying to bring all the passion of what I like to all my subscribers. I will keep on bringing it To you guys and gals Thanks so much. Appreciate you. Happy Easter.👌✌️

Jungle's last big sponsor pitch(or what would have been) was Aim Toothpaste. The Kenny Youngblood rendering was of the Jungle Caveman on the door with a big toothy smile, that would be holding a toothbrush and a tube of Aim toothpaste(instead of a club), with the Aim Toothpaste logo on the side. I bought one of those Kenny Youngblood prints and it hangs on my wall in a frame.

I had more money in the Cylinder Heads and top end of the Engine and the 5 speed Transmission and clutch set up than I really could afford and it took me one whole season to get it dialed in but the next year after spending more $$$$$$$ on a up graded differential is when things came together for me...and I ran that stripped down glassed up SS Nova Body till I was able to purchase a mostly glass 68 SS Camaro Body and I never looked back...I still today have and race a pair of Nova's a 70 True SS 565 Big Block Car and a 72 Rally Nova 434 Small Block Stick Shift Car but now days just for family Fun...

Music to yhe ears. Same time from we were running around with the Butters/Jerard TF dragster. I was a kid growing up in that garage after school being in the garge with the car lit and Nitro choking you out while all the girlie calendars blowing off the walls. Great environment for a small boy. 😂. Memories for sure. Yes, Im a nitro Junkie still. 😊

A old friend of mine his oldest brother used to be a independent truck driver and at times he got to haul Jungle Jim's race car trailer when his rig broke down . My friends brother would at times park his rig with Jims trailer hooked to it at my friend's parents house because they had enough room for him to park it before he was off to go deliver the car back to Jim back in the day . He also had a signed piston from his engine i remember seeing that my friend showed me many years ago . Nice to see this but I do remember in the early days Jim was more of a Chevrolet guy so seeing this Chrysler Hemi in this car looks kind of strange from what I remember years ago.

Of course that’s when all the big names would come to Capital Raceway. But because of over development Rt. 301 could not handle the traffic that these races would bring. 😢So sad.

Dynamic duos like Penn and Teller, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson, Michael Jordon and Scottie Pippen, Shaq and Kobe, and many others like them weren't immediately accepted by everyone either. It took years of hard work and dedication to their crafts before some fans came around to appreciate everything they did for their respective professions. I look back at vintage drag racing events and footage and can't imagine the sport without all the little parts and pieces that made it special. Jim and Pam were showmen-women. They realized the same thing Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Sr. did as their careers evolved.

Hello, agreed in the world of drag racing They were on top of the game even though they weren’t running too many NHRA meets per what Pam told me yeah the duos of racing have always been a big thing the snake & the mongoose as you said, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, I’m from Daytona Beach. I’ve been going to the races since the late 60s at Daytona seen the wing cars I was a huge fan. I had a chance to get to know Dale Earnhardt because he would come to the dealership for demos when he was at speed weeks @ Live Daytona and got a chance to rub buzz with him and have some Chevrolet dinners with him and got chance to go to his dealership, Newton North Carolina and hung out with him a bit fond memories of NASCAR but the sport changed tremendously and I’m not a fan anymore unfortunately but I hold onto those memories So yes, seen this car and her was just amazing. I’m glad I could bring it to y’all. Thank you so much for being on my KZread channel. Please subscribe and tell your friends.👍👌

I love all the funny cars of the 70s I was really young back then I was born in 1961 so I feel like I missed out on alot of the time period that I wish I would have been part of I would have loved to been a young teenager in the mid 50s but I'm grateful for being around in the 60s and 70s how times changed. Some of the youngsters just don't know how good they got it with the parts they have online now we had to do what we could with factory heads but some of that knowledge is still very helpful today.

I was at the gator Nationals this year and I met jungle Pam I used to race back in the day with my friend Ron leaf who owned a charger at first and then a vegan in the 70s I spoke to Jungle Pam and I we were talking about the old times and I said I remember the times when we ran against jungle add I showed us some old pictures as she really loved it and then we talked about jungle's car that day they tried to start it and it wouldn't start backfire and everything like that and jungle always had a curse on anyone who tried to imitate his cars or anything like that and we both talked about that and laughed that was a great day for me seeing her and she also remembered my friend

Hello sir, we probably bumped into each other during that that’s a great story. I love to hear that stuff. I’m sure she did as well. That’s why I like bringing this to everybody. It’s really stirred up a lot of old memories that are really feel good times in life drag racing was amazing in the 70s. It was the motorsport to be at so that being said, I enjoyed your story thanks for bringing that to us. Thanks for being on my KZread channel. Please subscribe and tell your friends. Thank you so much.👍✌️
