Its general. Like where an air filter is located . Or an exhaust . The sensor reads the crank so has to be near the bottom where the crank sits .

Roman Automotive, I did the same thing you did... in my toyota camry, and I couldn't get the so called sensor because when I try it to pull the piece of a rubber than it broke something in there like a connector that I need to replace, even the connector is broke there is no sensor to replace correct me if I'm wrong asap please.

would this sensor set off p0340 code as well ? i changed my camshaft pos sensor but code didn’t change n still having problems starting up , just replaced starter bc it died on me left me stranded got it back running but still having issues battling p0340. i’ve changed sensor would the crankshaft sensor maybe help or solve my issue ?

There are two sensors on my engine. I cannot find on my 2002 the crank sensor under the balancer connector harness. I have the side sensor plugged up to the coil but the other one is evasive and do not even know what the connector looks like nor have i seen any videos showing the two crank sensor locations and what the wires are and what they plug into nor the cam shaft sensor showing where it plugs into either. Any ideas?

2003 acura tl is it that easy to get too?

By the way have a 96 Corolla rd 1.8. Crankshaft position sensor is on the opposite side of yours. Check your vin# my Corolla was built in Canada. Same sensor opposite side.

For me, I drive a 1.8 Esteem Manual Trans...My rpms were bouncing between 3,500 and 2,000 until my car died. This only occurred after my car got warm and the sensor started acting up. Once hot my car wouldn't even start until a few hours has lapsed.

so if its in the back, that would be related with transmission fluid rather then oil? or is it lubricated with oil also

No. The crankcase is where the crankshaft sits. Just depends on how the engine is mounted. Some transmissions sit on the side ,some rear .

🤦‍♀️ I just replaced my computer and it’s still crazy now need to find my sensor as well car still will turn off when operating temperature and then won’t even turn over or crank no click nothing.. but on position will still let car lights and radio play and car has to sit for a day or two until it starts again.

Great video if you have that year mustang, otherwise it is pointless and a waste of my time.

You should specify what vehicle you're working on, not all makes and models are built the same... Dislike, Did not help since I can't even tell if it's for the same vehicle I'm working on, Pretty straight forward video none the less. Maybe next time add the vehicle info on the title.

Because he said it’s a COMMON AREA meaning most car have it located in this spot.. so that means he didn’t need to add the vehicle information. People like you dislike 👎 peoples videos for no reason. He clearly said most cars are located here and some are elsewhere so if this doesn’t work for you and you’re too lazy to take your tire and stuff off to check if it’s there then that’s just sad. I’ve been working on cars since I was 16 and I’m a woman. Stop crying

He assumes that you know what you are doing. The crank pulley is usually the biggest pulley mounted to the engine (a.k.a harmonic balancer) and is usually the lowest one. Some cars also have these sensors located inside the timing cover, this one does not.

on some vehicles like my 6.0 liter v8 its at the back on the engine behind the starter. look up your vehicle and where its at instead basing it off this video.
