[Re-release 2016]

Craig is strait laced Scott upbringing. I think Craig is trying to tell us what went on behind the scenes. It confirms all the crap that people have heard whispered over the years. Larry was definitely qualified to be in that clique.

hmmmmm ....... "Letterman" , in terms of start of the show into ...... maybe 2000 .... after that , Letterman got too political for my tastes ...... and Conan the same way .... only more recent has he become too political ...... Ferguson would maybe quote a headline & frame it where it wasn't too one sided , when he gave the punchline - if I remember correckedly ....... ???

Of all the late night hosts, Craig is the only one (IMO) that doesn't need a huge production (like fallon) around him to make the show good. All you needed was him. There's a reason why his monologue was the best out of any of them.

To be fair, the demographics of 'The Tonight Show" and Late (Late) night TV are pretty different. It's a lot different making a show that's designed to be the centerpiece of pop culture, and a show that people want to watch half falling asleep. Fallon himself is proof of this, as he did a lot more memorable and risky sketch work while doing late night.

@StreetTruckinTitan - that wouldn't go how you're imagining. Craig is a fairly conservative guy on most things, and he made it a point on the show to be fair to both sides of the political aisle. If anything I think Craig would be critical of the media for not being more balanced in their coverage. IF you saw the last stand up special he did for Netflix, he mentions that the media in general is so staunchly against Trump that you really can't trust anything they say anymore.

Thumbnail sketches are what artists do before they commit to a full piece. They are very small sketches in order to make the iteration process faster and to distinguish large "first read" forms.

It's disappointing almost to hear that Ferguson doesn't miss late night television. It amazes me that people who are such natural people performers - such as talk show hosts - seem to be more relieved than anything when they leave the spotlight. Take Johnny Carson for example. Millions of viewers every year, great stage presence and when he left, he cried, but never looked back. Jon Stewart is another example, and David Letterman (despite having his Netflix show) yet another. Interesting.

Love Craig, but obviously doesn’t know anything about 1930’s Germany. Hitler WAS NOT considered a “joke” candidate (that term is very 2016) and Hitler lost the presidential election to Hindenburg, who only ran because Hitler was anything but a joke. The National Socialists didn’t WIN a majority in the Reichstag in 1932. they lost seats ( tho kept a plurality ). And the Weimar Republic led by Hindenburg was considered the Right wing Party, and the Nazis and Communists were the LEFT. The Hindenburg government thought it a good idea to select Hitler as Chancellor (an appointed position then). So like most anti Trumpers making a ridiculous comparison to Hitler...all of his facts are WRONG lol.

Vegetarianism, socialist economics, government as the father/mother figure, social safety net, weak lip-service at most regarding religion, stringent animal protection/anti-vivisection laws....not exactly right wing, no! He was protectionalist, nationalistic and socially conservative, sure--but virtually EVERYONE was back then, that was the norm for world leaders. (And he was only socially conservative in public; in private, he lived in sin ffs., was an artist, never even had kids or a traditional family life at all.) Even his authoritarianism isn't exclusively a right-wing trait; Stalin, the communist, was extremely authoritarian. Most people have zero clue what they are talking about when Hitler comes up. It's all buzzwords and agitprop.
