Thomas was on the ice for the deciding goal, and let up as Pettersson skated right past him. Berube was spot on.

And look at the tying goal thomas was falling over like 3 times in one shift, i love thomas but omg

That was a smart play. Peterson was Faulk’s guy. Faulk let Peterson get a step on him so he could shoot it. The 3rd goal was definitely his fault

Thomas' such an anonymous player/character for a supposedly franchise #1C on a team that's trying to contend I get he's been flying a bit under the radar due to O'Reilly and Schenn being in St. Louis, but still
Love this. The management traded away their top players and now they want to lose to get a better draft pick. Credit to Craig here to keep guys accountable. Doesn't like losing like management's do.

Huh? Were you going to let Tarasenko walk after the season without any compensation? This team was stumbling and changes were needed. You can’t say management likes losing when the Blues are generally competitive year in and year out.

After the way last season ended, the Blues had Cup aspirations, and rightly so. They're tanking now because it's the smart thing to do; they're having an awful season and it's better to capitalize on their assets rather than lose them for nothing, but they didn't enter this season expecting to be terrible.

Don’t think they want to lose. Team chemistry matters. Just had to get some weeds out of the garden. It doesn’t mean Vlad Tarasenko or ROR were bad teammates. Just things weren’t syncing as well. GM - Doug Armstrong - made a smart statement about it. Sometimes your hard workers and skill players just don’t step up with hitting hard, grinding and leading team chemistry.
Missed opportunity with the Toropchenko comments last night.
Love the comments. Army has a lot of contracts that are questionable. Reminds me almost of what holland did in Detroit before he left. They’re still payin abdelkader.
Deservedly so! Should this team actually trade for Meier? I think they should rebuild.

Meier would be too expensive and doesn't make up for the litany of bad contracts. Time to rebuild
Robert Thomas's response was to the "YOU gotta ask them. I GUESS they dont care about the team. I dont know what it is." -Berube talking about multiple players in response to a reporters question about why the top guys have sucked. All of this is being misinterpreted and blown up by media trying to fan flames for stories and clicks. Everybody is fine, there needed to be a bit of a call out and the responses Thomas has given to pushy media have been fine. Of course he cares about the team, he just hasnt been good lately along with SEVERAL players.
Our top guys were playing good, Kyrou, Thomas and Parayko once they got their big contracts NTC 8 years, they fell off and slumped

That's what happens when you try to lock up young players based on potential (and one break out season), so you can save money, before they reach that expected potential (later on), where you will have to pay more. You get burned most times, and you stunt these young guys' growth (because they didn't have to earn their big contracts).
close your eyes and it sounds like Edward Norton
I mean they traded away their top guys lol
He's basically saying I can't coach this team, I don't know how to.
So it's okay for fans who spend their hard in dollars to just except this performance? Pathetic response.
Berube's out to lunch. The Blues just traded away O'Reilly, Tarasenko and Mikkola. Their Management wants the team to lose games and get a better chance at drafting higher in this deep Bedard-led draft class. The players are just getting the results that their management wants them to.

he's talking about compete level though, not necessarily team related results. if you listen to that whole interview he praised some other guys on the team, like Toropchenko (or whatever his name is)

They've been bad all season.
They’re not really in the playoff race, they traded their captain, they traded tarasenko, & binnington focuses more on air punch’s then making saves. What does Barube want?

@@stentorofsparta3576 that’s funny. I guess you don’t believe in players holding themselves accountable for playing bad. There’s a difference between losing and giving up, try watching a game.
This 'generation gap' thing is ALWAYS BS. There's nothing new under the sun. Sure, anyone with a good job should appreciate it, but money isn't the only motivating factor. It could be added that Chief does pretty well himself, and lighting a fire under these guys is HIS job.
Berube has balls to do that as he could loose the locker room

The Blues players have tuned out Craig Berube. It’s time for Doug Armstrong to fire him.
