The rubber stops that fit on to stop the bars from slamming into the heads are gold!

The bags you make look easier to add to the current bike. The rear rack, I like to take off also.

Cylinder protection I have used with the crash bars riding off road and has keeper me going. I have used two different types . Crash bars don't stop rocks cracking your Cylinder heads

On the lower crashbars with boxer heads, I think BMW are right with a head guard, which I'm sure you will do well with your rubber system.

    1. Stainless steel - no rust, can easily sand scratches out 2. Easily removed for service or serviceable valve access 3. Optional rubber bar protectors for driveway drops 4. Final Drive Guard 5. Bar end protection

I like the idea of using the bmw connection points to fasten after market luggage. I don’t like the scaffolding frames

I’d definitely go for a 304 stainless steel so scratches can be polished out.

I was looking at the 1300 at BMW Motorad in Alabama USA. The rear of the bike will be interesting to model a crash bar. I like the look and way you can attach things to the 1300, but it will hard to make it crash proof. The rail addition doesn’t look easy to add.

OEM bars deform by a few mm even in a low speed drop and are a pain to tweak back. Be good if you build in a small degree of flex to compensate.

Stainless steel are my thoughts to the crash bars. Scrapes to painted bars as well as rust being a constant problem. Also just a thought and mind you I am no engineer but what about filling the inside of the bars with some kind of a foam product that would both keep water and moisture and also act as a damper to falls. I know it would add to the weight but perhaps negligible amounts that could work. I love your products and please keep up the great work.

Excellent video many thanks. Motobags saved my 1250GS from damage when it tipped over loved it, hence I really hope there will be a conversion kit for the Rackless Bags to the 1300GS relatively soon. Regarding the crash bars I like to see the ability to attach bags to it and they have to be stable, easy to fit (i.e. replace the existing crash bar without major effort). They should protect the cylinder head and the tank and most importantly must fit the original connection points.

MachineArtMoto cylinder head covers on a 1200GSA. Crash bars help but the cylinder heads take most of the hit and the covers are a must have. The bags help a bit too. Thanks for a great video and for your great products. Cheers.

Protection should be installed once and not have to be removed to service or get at certain parts on engine.

Typically, all crash bar sold currently design in curvy shape. LR may consider to make them not curvy but rather jagged to make it look rugged/aggressive. Just a thought.

Great video again! For me the most import about the crashbars it makes the bike look more aggressive, like outback motortek does know own the 1250gs

Have a look at how OUTBACK MOTOREK make and more importantly, real life crash test them, until they do the job they are supposed to do. The ONLY company i know off who do this and aren't shy in showing videos of them crashing the bikes with their bars on and showing the results..... A lot of bars on the market are cosmetic at best, they just bend and fold into the bike when crashed.

The crashbars I currently have (painter black) , are covered in rust. Crashbars I've owned before also had a lot of rust on them. Somehow developing crashbars that don't rust, seems hard. I currently have plastic protectors on my crashbars that I can replace when they are scratched. Also I like protection around the tank. I like it when this is connected to the lower crashbars

great video thanks, I have had a few drops, one damaged the beak , I came off and the bike spun, I did not have upper crash bars then so have always fitted them since. the ones I have have 4 connecting points that I believe kept my cylinder heads safe, and the bars only got scratched, I had some bars with 3 connected point on the bike I had before I dropped that bike and the bars did protect but bent into the heads.

Slight different topic but a mirror image lock for the motobags would be great, both my Vstrom 650 and Tuareg 660 are harder to lock on left side due to access none exhaust side. Hope that makes sense.

As others have said, rust free finish with sacrificial protectors, so that a minor drop does not require the whole crash bar set being replaced. Love the idea of rubber mountings for the rear brace, could all the mounting points be "rubberised"?

I can tell what my bars DON’T have…fit and finish. Unfortunately Outback Motortek is about the only “quality” brand it for the new KTM 1290 Super Adventure. But they fit horribly over an inch out from side to side, there was hardware that was too short, ridiculous for a company that gets so much boot licking. Fix that and you’ll have a win in my book.
