I love all of your videos, those pages are beautiful! I know you love the way you store your big stencils now, so I thought I'd share with you how I store my Tim Holtz stencils, in case you're interested. I use a key ring that opens and closes, and I put the ring through the hole at the top of the stencils. It's such a convenient way to keep them all together and to look through them all! You can hang them that way too.

I love the idea of putting them al on a ring... the reason I haven't done that is I have to tell everyone what stencil I'm using in videos - and if I write the names on the stencils and then paint over that name - it defeats the purpose of writing them on the stencil. So for now I keep them in packages where I can still identify them. 😊

Most boxes are corrugated cardboard covered in paper & stripping the paper off pieces randomly creates the most gorgeous mark-making stamps. And you can buy inexpensive paper crimpers that corrugate the paper/card as you wind it through.

Denise, this video made my day!! I thought 'yes!!' she's going to show everyone how to make their own mixed medis journal/sketchook. This will inspire so many people. I have been making and binding my own sketcbooks for about three years now,and I love doing so. So happy you are now going to be doing this too. I never have the fearof the first blank page, as once I've made a sketchbbok I'm itching/excited to start using it!. I just know your skillshare classes on sketch book making are going to really popular!!! Now that I love making and binding my own sketchbooks so much, I know I will never buy ready made ones again, and you inspired me to begin creating ones with mixed papers in them,so thank you for that inspiration. And loved how you began the newly made book too.(Matt) P.s I find making and in particular binding my sketchbooks really meditative,I can just tune out the world and just enjoy the making process,it's like a form of creative chill-out.

Will definitely do the journal class. I love Skillshare, great value and so many inspiring classes. I like to put my paintings in books because after you have framed a dozen or so and hung them around the house, even my laundry is an art gallery, the books are convenient to flick through and look great on my coffee table for guests to flick through. Another inspiring video keep up the great teaching.

I´m thinking YES and oh no ... Love the all the colors! These porcelain palettes are so GOOD! Keep my Gansai Tambi pans in order when I take them out of the box. Oh no, I can´t go down that rabbit hole and start making books, again ... Just joking, of course I will! 🤣😂🙃But I found a shop that had the Media Journals, and couldn´t resist buying them. Oh yea! I ordered some Khadi papers yesterday and can't wait to create a book in the Skillshare class. You used Daniel Smith paints today which I love! I almost bought that Sleeping Beauty yesterday - dang it. Amazon here I come again 🤣. I love that paper you used on the exterior of this book - fabulous! Such a great idea too of deciding on a color palette to use for multiple projects, and just activating the paint in those porcelain palettes. EEEEEEK - I'm jazzed after watching your KZread video today!🤩

Great video, your books are beautiful ❤ I’m sure they will be very popular. I’ve been making my own art journals since I started with junk journals four years ago. I love making mine with a fabric cover and sew each signature with all kinds of paper. I like the soft cover a bit more as they are flexible and I can take a page to the sewing machine for added interest. 😊

Love this color palette, and I NEED loads of those ceramic palettes! 😂 As many times as I’ve been to the Atlanta area (family in Buford/Alpharetta), I did not know Blick had a store there. I usually wait until I go back home to IL to raid the outlet at the HQ. Now my mind is racing! I’ll be hopping onto Skillshare to do the book workshops...I’ve been wanting to make my own for some time. Thanks Denise for always knowing what I need. 🤣😂

Can't believe this! I have been thinking of doing my own DW book, too. Great minds think alike. The other day, I was working on a journal for a friend following the lessons by Chanel Ly from Bitter Melon Bindery and thought an art journal for myself would be my next project. I received a nice amount of book binding supplies this past Christmas, so this is a big win. I have everything I need and have been making a couple of books so far. Confession time: I felt bothered/envious every time I saw that DW journal, knowing I couldn't get it. Now that I know I can have as many as I want, it's not so important. Not sure what that says about me, but not sure I like it. 🤔

It is a membership site with thousands of classes that you get access to as a member. You can join yearly or monthly. The yearly price is much cheaper than monthly. It is a fantastic deal for everything they have on their site. I also sell the individual classes on my website and I have both those links in the description below the video. 😊

The colorful squares paper would be in what section in the Blick Store, love it!

I love that paper so much I need to go get another sheet. It is in their section where they carry hand made papers. In my Blick there is a section where they have big cabinets with drawers and the paper samples are sitting on top of the cabinets. The papers are in the drawers.

These are online - watch at your own pace- on skillshare or for sale on my site - link in description below. Each workshop has 3 different projects and will remain available as I release the others. I’m using book glues on these. The yes paste would be ok on the covers, probably not as good on spines. I start in the middle incase I don’t like what I painted 😂

Hi Denise, as always you have sparked the art bug inspiration in me again. I finally joined Skillshare and started my first course with you and your bookbinding lesson. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to save courses on skillshare. I googled it and what was suggested doesn't seem to work. Can we save courses taken to skillshare or only to our computers? I would appreciate any help that I can get. thank you as always for sharing your talents and experiments with all of us!
