Craft with me, recreating a technique from a digital.
In todays video I have ago at recreating the style and technique of a digital from the curious case of craftly hall. I absolutely loved the grungy look of the digital and thought it would work great as a background for something. On the whole I think I did ok, mine certainly turned out a bit grungier and I am still unsure of the teabags being added but it was a fun creative experiment.

Thank you for this video showing this whole process, I look at people's digital kits and think, wow I wonder how they made that look so real. I am amazed by this recreation of the torn notebook that was torn by the unhappy forgotten. Souls from the days past at Craftly Hall. ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much. Like you, I often look at digitals and wonder how the texture was made, which is why I decided to try and recreate one I felt really inspired by. It was a fun process and I'm definitely going try it again. 😊

Thank you, I'm glad you have been inspired to have a go yourself 😊
You did a great job Bel. It doesn’t need to look just like your inspiration. In the real world no 2 pieces of any vintage paper will look the same. You could also take your walnut stain put some down on a plastic sheet, spray a little water then pick up the ink with your paper to create splotches loved the process on this video.

Thank you so much. Yes, using the ink pad like that would have worked well, probably better than the teabag ended up looking. Thank you for the tip 😊
Wow! You’ve again inspired me to attempt this myself. You really captured the essence of the piece. Nicely done!

Thank you for the idea. I’m going to start out with coffee died/wrinkled paper and see what happens. ❤

Thank you. I think using the tea/coffee dyed paper would be a good idea and really add an aged grungy feel to the piece. I think if I remade this I would do so with tea dyed paper. 😊
Enjoyed video. Love , your recreating the little notebook . Love all the grunge. I think I would have done the same but then took the top layer from the original digital. Cut it out , scrunched it up, inked it and glued it to the top of notebook I made. I think. But I love all your texture and creativity. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks so much, I'm not completely happy with it, but it was a fun creative experience. 😊
Hi Bel, I am wanting to give this a try. I am thinking the dark splotches remind me of what I get when I throw coffee crystals on coffee dyed paper before it is dry. I feel very inspired. Have you ever done Edgar Allen Poe or Sherlock Homes journals? I think you would do amazing and I am here for it. I would also love to see your take on grungy vintage ID tags, passports, personnel files etc. This was fantastic today. Xx,Julie🦋🌼💐🐞🪻🏵🐝

Thank you. Yes, the dark splotches do look similar to coffee crystals. I can't actually use coffee which is a shame as I like the darker colour and crystals effects you can get. So I try to replicate that by leaving my papers in really strong tea for ages and using stamps. 😊
i love it and am going to have to try it
