I make these but glue a trimmed toilet paper roll for jar using and apply the caulk and ink mix between paper roll and glass jar. Saw it on you tube and she used tiny beads for the seeds in the mix. I Think it was Mother Time on you tube.

I just grabbed a set of 12 Alcohol inks for my other fake bakes, I have a nice set of the Holtz Ranger ones, but as anyone who uses Jim Holtz brand knows...its SUPER expensive (even more so NOW, Wow! I went to grab some bc I needed lighter colors, I have more dark ones for prim crafts of course, lol!) and has it gone up O_o I think it was like $11 plus change & then taxes, so say $12 for 2 or 3 bottles! Sooo, I took a look at Te mu bc I had ordered a really nice set of 12 10ml bottles alcohol inks there when they offered them as a flash deal of $5, but I didnt notice they were Metallic colors! Bummer! And when the flash deal popped up, I tried to see what the colors were, but I couldn't change it or anything, so I just grabbed them and hoped they were regular colors, lol! Oh well, they ARE nice, but I dont know how or what Ill use them on. ANYWAY, that being said, I still needed red, yellow, green, etc, lol for my fake bakes so back to te mu I went to see what they have. They have a LOT! So be aware when you order to read through the listing. Most listing are for multiple sets and you pick when you go to put it in your cart. I ended up grabbing a set of 12 basic color Alcohol inks in a 5ml size which is actually PERFECT bc I only use a few drops at a time generally and they dont take long to arrive so I can order more as I need. The set I grabbed was only $5 and change w free shipping of course. Its under the heading of RESIN Pigment. But I've already used a couple colors in my silicone (one for a faux lemon donut filling & the other was red & blue mixed for a jelly donut filling) and its perfect, exactly what I was looking for. The ones I got are pretty popular, they actually have fruit on the label so you know what color it is compared to, along with the written name of the color. Just be careful to make sure you don't get Pearl or Metallic, lol, like I did or lightly pigmented (the ones used for a more see through effect). Its well worth the $5+ and you can always get the larger bottles if you use it enough, Ive seen those on sale for a bit more money, but STILL not as expensive as the craft store ones. The ones on Ama zon that Ive seen that are a little less than craft stores, but still expensive are the SAME ones on te mu, but you just get them faster (1-2 days usually) compared to up to 12 days. I just order ahead, lol!

The coffee grunge mix will mold whatever you make if you don't seal it. It happened to my faux pumpkin pie I made.

Sounds like you may have left something wet/damp for too long. I’ve NEVER had anything grow mold on it from using the coffee grunge. Could your grunge have been stored in the fridge for too long before you used it?

@mysweethomeliving I mixed my coffee grunge mix with my orange paint and then painted my pie with it just as you did, and within a week, I had fuzzy mold growing on it. It may be because of the instant coffee in the mix, but then again, I forgot to seal my pie after making it, but I thought it would 100% be fine, and it for sure wasn't. Maybe next time, I'll seal the whole pie with a sealer.

Or it could have been Cassidy Smallwood as she made them. She does all kinds of fake bakes.

I was wondering if you could tell me if you use matte modge podge or glossy? I have asked on several videos. Thank you ❤ I love how these come out.

Hi! Ive been doing Primitive crafts for over 10 yrs now (just to let you know Ive made and sold more things than I can count, lol!), starting back before oit was SO hard to find anything on how to make Prim style decor, but I did find a few old blogs that gave excellent tutorials, ALL of them always use matte! I do have gloss on hand, but I use that for more fake bakes that need a more glaze or drizzle look. But for stuff like this when I use my dry cinnamon & instant coffee mix that I grunge with, I always use matte. just be sure to pour it in a cup and use it from the container with your brush, lol, I cant tel you how many times I have had to make a good size jar of matte mod podge my "grunge" podge because I didnt think to just pour a bit into a cup or was in a rush and didnt think of it until I looked and seen coffee and cinnamon mixed into my jar of mod podge, lol! Hope this helps!
