Aw Gayle this AliExpress website is not just copying the few people you’ve mentioned - they copy EVERYONE, and yes they also sell through Etsy and EBay usually providing faster shipping through those sites than AliExpress. I personally have seen several of our favourite digital designers being copied by sellers on AliExpress. It’s not AliExpress itself. It’s the individual sellers who must buy from a factory (or several) in China who are constantly scouting the internet and taking small makers, and even big brand stores and stealing their designs. It’s sad, but reality is that it’s not just AliExpress; big name brands also steal ideas from small handmade businesses, designers have always taken ideas from other designers and will continue to do so. Running a business these days when your product images are so easily accessible online for anyone to see is quite a challenge. Even if your design is completely unique, once it’s online you’re bound to see a growing competition arising. Nevertheless, when something you’ve created is downright copied - it’s infuriating and completely illegal. I wish there was more we could do to stop it...

Hi Gayle. I’m an Aussie and yes, you do have an accent. All Americans do have an accent different to us, however, even in Australia people from the different states speak with slight variances just as you do in the US. We love listening to you speak and try to work out from which area you originate. Over here, we hear American accents very early in life because of the predominance of movies, TV shows, Media etc that is produced in your country, so our ear is tuned quickly. I must add that I really enjoy your channel and look forward to your next episode. Thank you for your commitment to spreading your craft and enjoyment and helping other artists to do the same! 😀🇦🇺💞

That's funny!...about the scissors! I know I've seen you use them and never guessed you didn't know what they were called. A deckle is the screen hand made paper is poured through and the edges turn out more natural...just like how we like tearing our paper to get that kind of edge. They make some book pages deckle edged as well. And btw....I have Fiskars brand of several of the decorative scissors and they're not much better than any other.

Would love to find the first video about this book. And would like to know more about the sections and how many pages it was and what it might be at the end. Great video and first subscription and following you.

WOW, I did not know that about Aliexpress, I was wondering why I was seeing Tim Holtzs stamps over there. This is really going to hurt a lot of Esty sellers because a lot of their things do come from there. Thank you for this information.

Use your forged papers as under layers on projects- that way they are not seen, just reinforcement for your original art. I also saw that you use Sophie’s Diary pages that way- totally buried in the bowels of original art.

Wow Gayle I am so loving this series, I have wanted to do an altered book for so long, my first attempt failed miserably, now I know what I did wrong. Now I'll give it another go. We are in Canada and we woke up the same day and was so shocked by the pile of snow too, we must be in the same weather pattern, but it was gone by the next day, enough with the snow right? Thanks so much for the wonderful channel I look forward to watching and listening to you everyday...Hugs....mary xo
