    You play it upside down from most, but all solutions from that hole empty will end up being in the same hole as your solution. The only way to leave a peg in your empty hole is to start with your final position empty as well.

    Instead of numbering the holes, I opted to letter them A through O. And a pair of letters represents a jump, or move. So starting with the empty hole at M, KM, NL, FM, OF, CJ, BI, LN, GB, AD, DM, JH, NL, LE! Would represent every move from the middle hole that most other videos label #13, to the final peg being in the hole most videos label as #5 - the empty starting hole in this video.

    You can start any where. The board is symmetrical. You are an expert when you recognize there are only 2 games on the board. Removing any peg on the edge can yield the same winning pattern. Removing any center peg can yield the same winning pattern. Learn these 2 patterns and u become a winner.

  • @Andrewnfocus

    @Andrewnfocus

    2 жыл бұрын

    The board is symetrical. Thus, there are only two games on the board: > Remove any outside peg >Remove any inside peg. When you under stand this, you are an expert. Also, then u can teach anyone to play and win in a few minutes. You can even teach them by phone without a peg board in their site. Wow! In 1983, I programmed a Radio Shack Model 3 to be the board. Thus, the game becomes very fast because you are not fiddling with pegs. The computer calcates the jumped peg by: > Adding the peg you used to jump, > To the empty hole u jumped into. > then dividing by 2 > then taking the INTEGER value of the result. Example: Jump 4 into 6 4 + 6 = 10 10/2 = 5 The computer removes the peg from hole 5. Andrew

    Actually you’re WAY over thinking this. The rules clearly state: “Start with pegs in all the holes except one. As you jump pegs, remove them from the board. Try to leave only one peg.” Based on the rules, Here’s what ya do (also a good form of exercise): 1) place the board, with all pegs inserted, on the floor. 2) Much like skipping rope, stand on your tip toes and jump over the board; remove one peg each time you jump over the board. Do that 13 times. Good job, you’re a Genius!
