    me again, after a few months of practice I am doing the combo almost consistant , it is a long combo and the struggle is more about not losing where you are in the combo Than doing it clean over a beat. Man TY again for this tutorial.

    I got here from reading a comment about the "rolling" technique used in Tetris for pressing the buttons 20+ times per second. Pretty random...but this is a cool video 😁

    Hey thats an easy explanation/instruction of the crab. When I first tried this my thumb gave me so much trouble, it would finish the first three movements and just sit there wanting to be a spectator. Wish I had this video when I was learning, would have been easier. 😀😀😀👍👍👍👍

    the crab movement is in fact a natural hand movement. Its called the inside hand roll and it is known for stimulating the human brain.

  • @DJLiftOFF

    Really, very interesting. I suppose after getting it down, it does feel pretty natural! And now that I think about, I definitely did the “hand roll” from pinky to index finger on the table growing up.

    you mad me realize that you have to double the first finger and the last one......and sing it in our head 1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3-3-2-1......a lot of job because I pas always doing 1-2-3 1-2-3......but because of you i Will master it now. thank you so much I how you one dude. BTW I Think I need an emotional managing tutorial when things not going as fast as I want, I get so sad that I lose Energy to practice hard parts .....maybe a new video on that, I almost certain that Iam not alone in this situation. ty again dude

    You’re more than welcome! And you’re absolutely right man. I even struggle with learning new techniques to this day and have to take breaks and come back to it later! It’s all part of the process and it’s easy to get discouraged but taking it a day at a time is most important. No need to rush!

    Because of your answer I watched the video again and I was actually wrong. You are doing 3-2-1-3-2-1 a so on. It is easier like that ….but what do you think of practicing the crab like 1-2-3-3-2-1 ? Is is useful for further combos or to make it sound in another way or it is a pur wast of time ?

    That's a closed fader crab right? I sucked at crab scratching, still do, however it improved significantly after I started practicing the open fader crab scratching

  • @DJLiftOFF

    Never heard the term closed fader crab but that makes sense. I think I’ve seen the way you’re talking about it be done too! Whichever is easier 💯

  • @ticoinjapan

    @ticoinjapan

    @DJLiftOFF it means you start and finish with the fader open, it adds an additional sound to the begging and end, it helps a lot us beginners, but more experienced people like you are OK with the fader closed

    Hey Liftoff, curious about your first thoughts after seeing the DDJ REV 7 today.

  • @DJLiftOFF

    @DJLiftOFF

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yo! I used a Pioneer DDJ SZ2 as my main controller for various years and loved it. Still use it from time to time to this day. Since then, I’ve really enjoyed the S9 as a battle style mixer so the REV 7 is very intriguing. I like the display in the middle of the jog wheels, and I honestly want to get my hands on one. I like the Rane One, but I have a feeling I’ll like this one a tad bit more. And it has on board effects which is a huge plus

  • @Mixxwizard

    @Mixxwizard

    So true, I ordered one yesterday. After I get it, I will decide if I want to sell the Rane one or not. I just sold my DDJ SZ 2 not to long ago.

    If you feel like you are going to want to become a scratch dj, something with moving platters would be better. I'm learning to dj on a ddj 1000 and I can see the benefits of moving platters for scratching.
