Yea you can… just keep in mind the closer you get to crab island and the busier it is, the more dangerous it can get. I mean there are people everywhere after 12pm… most of them drunk 🤷🏽‍♀️

Crab Island is within a large "no wake" boating area. You can't legally ski or wakeboard there.

I live here and have never been to Crab Island. Just too many people in one place. How many are urinating in the water? Just too much to think about. 🤔

Far fewer people per square yard than at a public pool, or a public beach swimming area. But most of the time, Crab Island has tidal current flowing over it, and the water replaces itself about every 3-5 minutes.

What are the water taxis for?

The water taxis take you to the Harbor Boardwalk where all the restaurants and fun activities are located. It’s much easier than dealing with driving and parking during the busy season, and safer if you decide to have a cocktail or three ☺️

Really? Wow I been twice and if they do exist, definitely not something that stood out. If you have kids or go in a big group, I still recommend having a back up plan.

Yes, same. I follow a lady that lives there and posts all the time about Crab Island. I reached out to check on this specific issue and she told me there are floating bathrooms around!

There are no public restroom facilities on the Crab Island sandbar, and there never have been. The only toilets out there are on privately chartered boats. A few of the companies that offer charter boats with a head (restroom) on them: - Tailfins Island Adventure and Tiki Cruises (all of their boats have flush toilets) - Destin Pontoon Charters (some of their boats) - The Crab Island Company runs excursion boats out of The Edge Restaurant, and their boats have a toilet, too FYI, the toilets on these boats are only for the use of their charter passengers.
