Crab Curry by Chef Annie Nguyen | Cooking with The Nguyens

Welcome to my channel called "Cooking with The Nguyens", my name is Annie Nguyen (Chef Annie), and I'm the owner of The Nguyen's Vietnamese Family Restaurant in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
I decided to create this channel because I wanted to share my Vietnamese cooking, culture and heritage to a bigger community. This is not a typical "How to Cook" channel, it's more than that to be honest.
I am very passionate about my cooking and that's why I had this idea of building an outdoor kitchen in our backyard and that idea became a reality. The outdoor kitchen called "Annie's Kitchen" became my KZread studio and it's a dream come true.
I also created my own sauce (read the story below) called The Nguyen's Sauce and that's why I was so inspired to start this channel. I use my sauce (Marinade, Traditional, Peanut and Pad Thai) whenever I cook. It's humbling that my sauce collection are now available in some grocery stores.
But you might ask where I can still find time to create videos? Telling my story and sharing stories of amazing people I meet along the way is very inspiring.
So let me take you on a journey where I will transport you to Vietnam with my videos.
The Nguyen's Sauce Collection Story
Many customers asked me why I decided to create a variety of sauces. What’s the real reason behind it? Why is it so important to me? I am thrilled to share my journey on why I decided to create The Nguyen’s Sauce collection to all of you.
My typical day can be very hectic maybe because my husband and I have young children to raise. Balancing family and the restaurant can be very challenging and more often it’s hard to find extra time for anything else.
As a mom I always wanted to give my family the very best. From quality time and of course preparing the best meal, since I do that to all our customers on a daily basis at our restaurant. But I do get tired too and that thought alone gave me the idea of creating the sauces.
I experienced the best from my mom. Watching her cook at a very young age back in Vietnam and because she has an amazing recipe for making sauces I decided to ask her to help me out creating the sauce together. I just thought maybe I can create something that will enable me to create Vietnamese cuisine quicker and tastier.
I tweaked and added a few ingredients from my mom’s recipe and to her approval our sauces was developed.
Today even with a very busy day I can easily open a jar of any sauce and I can prepare an amazing authentic Vietnamese dish for my family and friends.
Now you can enjoy it too!!!
Traditional sauce is great for mango salad or any salad, spring rolls, dipping sauce for meat, pork, beef and fish. It’s amazing to mix with white rice too.
Marinade Sauce is the go to sauce for grilling anything, really! Marinade for hours or just slab and grill right away, will work. The flavour is so satisfying and you’ll need more than one jar because you’ll want to marinade again and again.
Peanut Sauce is great for dipping with fresh rolls or mix it with any meat. Would you believe that this peanut sauce has NO PEANUTS, taste like peanuts but safe for anyone that has peanut allergies.
Pad Thai Sauce is great for Pad Thai. If you ever wanted to crave for pad Thai, creating the sauce can take forever and with this jar, all you need are the other ingredients such as noodles, carrots, broccoli, bean sprouts, lime, pork, beef, chicken, shrimp or tofu.
In summary, I created a fast way to cook authentic Vietnamese food for my family Now I can have more quality time with my family and more time for myself as well.
