I have both the CR18P and the CR18P evo. The biggest fail on the evo on mine is shifting from gears is sloppy, makes the chassi flex when in first gear and back to normal on second gear, neutral is always catching on the gears, no matter how much I try to adjust the servo it just sucks. The original, the plastic gears stripped under load, on its first run, same run I've done on my fcx24 K5 Blazer. The CR18P rock van also twisted the driveshafts under load. I had to buy the metal gears and metal drive shafts for the CR18P rock van and now it's a really good rc. I love the look and the esc is great.

Yes! LMAO You had me rolling with that last one about BigMike. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Anyway, yeah I've not been a fan of this rig, but I'm thinking now that i will give it a try because the pros outweigh the cons for sure. Probably figure something out with the transmission as that slop, and the way it just has cheap tranny written all over it just annoys the F out of me. But the 280 motor I've used before and loved it. Great review, as usual.

Cheap tranny, are we talking about big mike again😂. Im hoping i can fix it because if i can it will be a really good rig. I didn’t show much of it but it did some pretty hard lines. Im going to do a comparison video next w the redcat and katana. As far as capability out of the box i think this one will win. But not sure we will see. After that i will try to fix the slop. Use 1.1mm rod to make pins for trans and portals and shim the axle shaft going into the differential. Tightens up the truck sooo much.

How do you get rid of the wheel slop?

Nice little course I have the Furitek version with a bunch of upgrades metal axles reefs servo aluminum high clearance links & servo tray, Meus wheels , I also replaced all the bushings with bearings next is metal driveshafts they are a weak point & break but so far mine has been ok but getting the metal ones before they do break.

Just uploaded a comparison video, check it out if you get the chance. If not short answer is i like the cr18 better out of the box but i prefer the redcat. Couple easy ugrades and it is gold

@@Polskmofo $188 shipped seems fair. I think Helidirect has it for $170ish. Dunno if that's with free shipping in the US. Funny enough, I was just looking at them on Aliexpress. $240 Cdn. They only had the half-painted version. But what caught my eye, and concern, was every time I saw Furitek in the description, it was spelled "Furi Tek" or was spelled correct but put in square brackets [Furitek] and had "style" written after . Kinda made me suspicious they were using mincy language to be sneaky. This was added to by a pic of the ESC. It had a cheap looking sticker on it as a label saying "Furitek Lizard". Just didn't look right either. They just aren't for sale here in Canada, which sucks. I much prefer the SCX24 scale rigs. But this one got my attention as it's quite close in size.

@@wingnutbert9685 I just got mine yesterday. The half painted version is the one with the brushless system. As far as I can tell everything is as it should be and I got it for the same price as the brushed version. Drove it a couple times and the only thing that irks me is the sloppy driveline.
