Well, I’ve spent two months participating in the making of a pretty great short film, and now, the work is done and I’ve finally headed back to the backyard to play with the Backyardigans. My last, and biggest, BTV paid tribute to the time the Backyardigans were superheroes and supervillains, but I also remembered that my favorite Backyardigan, Tasha the hippo, wasn’t a part of that group. Luckily, I decided to create a scenario where the superhero geek, played by me, would also create a superhero story starring Tasha. I recalled an arc in Season 1’s “Viking Voyage” where Tasha played a tough mermaid, and decided to make that arc into a superhero setup, involving Tasha stopping a villainous Viking (also played by me) from engaging in a crime spree, and setting it to Tasha’s wonderful number featured in the episode, “Extra, Extra Tough”. It’s great to be back paying tribute to The Backyardigans.
