One of my early (and probably only) technical prowesses. Loved working on that piece. Essentiel work for beginners for developing technique fluidity... and fun guaranteed...
I started piano lessons when I was 15, and my teacher was smart enough to move me onto this piece within several weeks. (After I transposed a mozart ronde into a minor key for fun - and to get a rise out of my teacher. Boy, it worked! He was not amused.😂) Anyway, I only had 3 months of piano when I had to stop due to grave family illness. But I still remember most of this piece. It was so, so, so exhilarating working on it. 30+ years later, I'm off to buy a yamaha p45 tomorrow. And I'll be back to your channel. Thank you!

Wow, what a story. Mozart would have been amused 🙂. Hope life is going well for you. Did you see the P45 on sale at Costco? Please look through my easy sight-reading lessons. You can also reach me by email.
Thanks Jane, your tutorial is one of the best I could find in KZread. It’s great to complement my own study.

This is so useful when learning to read music. I read the music and then look on here to spot all the errors I'm making.

Difficult to recommend, best to surf around listening to new pieces. When you found a piece you like, check the level on my tutorial if I made one. Do you play from the score or by ear?

Hi, Did you play it at first sight?, What is the best way to learn at first sight? and how many time i need practice to realize benefits in sight reading?
@janepianotutorials
7 жыл бұрын
Yes, most of my tutorials are read at first sight. A link in the video description leads to my sight-reading lessons, and this quote: "The best way to develop your sight-reading is to sight-read." Charles Cooke, Playing the Piano for Pleasure.
why did you use the right hand on the first note? does it help you gain speed when trying to play this presto?
@janepianotutorials
6 жыл бұрын
finger 2 with stem up was the indication. pattern follows throughout the piece.
It's really hard to play this part (3:54) fastly and making it sound right. I don't know how to master it...Do you have any suggestions/ any kind of exercises?
@janepianotutorials
4 жыл бұрын
Practice a short section at a time. Force yourself to obey a metronome, set it to your competent speed, then tick it up 1 or 2 bpm upon each repeat. You’ll get to tempo and play evenly that way. Good luck
Merci!! Tres interessant

Why do we use the left hand to play notes on the right hand part?? How do I see when to play the with the right and when to play with the left hand? Edit: is it that the tails point downwards? Seems like it to me
@janepianotutorials
4 жыл бұрын
In this case, yes. But not always, see my BWV849 tutorials. We use whichever hand works to hold note values. A good editor would notate what’s best, but often we have to figure it out for ourselves.
Trying to learn this one and it’s hard to hear it when it is so slow or when people play it so fast.

Do you use the speed tool? It works for me 😊

Hello! You may not answer me as this tutorial is very old but anyways, I’m having trouble in the last part ( 4:42 ) and I have a week to learn how to play it, any tips you can give me to learn it faster? Thank youuu!!!
@janepianotutorials
Жыл бұрын
YT emails me new comments. The logical way to play faster is to use a metronome. Set it to your competent speed, upon each repeat, increase the metronome by 1 or 2 bpm. Keep doing that, you will reach tempo and play evenly. Good luck!

Thank you for the slow version! I truly do not understand why all sheet music does not have the left hand doing doing the first four notes. After all the first two notes are next to each other! It certainly doesn't help the speed of the piece. If I was a left hand I'd tell the right hand to go away!!!
@janepianotutorials

Good question 😊 Starting the first note with the right hand sets a pattern and a rhythm for what follows, it definitely makes it more fun 😊❤️

If you could do an updated tutorial that would be incredible as this feels a little dated and hard to see even with the score. Although you are wonderful!!! Don’t get me wrong!!

Why do you use two hands at the 7th measure?
@janepianotutorials

Fingering depends on hand structure. Imagine 8 vs 12 span? So use what’s comfortable for your hands.
