The Vrbo’s & the Airbnb’s take priory not the actual people who actually service these guest’s to the city. The resident’s actually organize and put on the summer festival’s like a bunch of puppet’s, year after year. Aren’t hotels & motels mean’t to house the city’s guest’s ? City council in its wisdom, endorse’s the astronomical rents & residential listings. It speaks with “ forked tongue “ . Alaska is rebelling against mass tourism, as are parts of Europe starting a similar path . Is that what global cities & destinations are to become ? This addiction to things that are not of any meaningful benefit to anyone, other than the tourist. That is how a rub & tug by the lake got a 99 year lease. Queens Park & City Hall are in very close proximity to one another. They both contribute to the continued brain drain of wise governance. It’s how major problems like homelessness occur, a non existent health care system happen. These problems existed with the previous Federal Government , the previous Provincial Government, and Mayor of Toronto. Their back’s must be sore, from continually patting each other on them.
