I downloaded the Spring Commonplace Guidebook today and absolutely adore it. It is a wonderful spring gift! It is so great to know of someone else who has the same adoration of nature as I do. Also, I am 74 years old and have never read The Wind In The Willows. My husband is out of town and mentioned that he will be stopping at a bookstore. I gave him a list and 1st on it is The Wind In The Willows!

Dear Miranda, your vlog is a wonderful way to celebrate Spring! You are the image of Spring in your gorgeous dress… In Italy we don’t have anything similar to an Easter tree and I find the idea absolutely lovely : I think I’ll start a new tradition and I’m already looking forward to decorating it!! We only put a branch of olive tree in our home on Palm Sunday ( today) as a sign of blessing and protection for the family but it is a religious tradition and it’s not the same thing. Have a joyful Easter time with your dear mum.❤

I once read a book as a child that I cannot remember the name of. I had taken it out from the library. It was about a girl name Laura who went to summer camp. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 1966 edition was illustrated by our beloved Tasha Tudur. U.S gardener and illustrator. Cherry blossom and lambs. What a lovely way to start a vlog, especially one celebrating spring. I love the idea of an Easter tree, I might have to do that next year. You always get me with the food. I loooove pesto, had pistachio pesto in Italy last month. It was incredible! Ps. My mum and I are planning a bookish road trip round Yorkshire later this month!

I’m sure we’ve all been there when the unexpected happens in a vehicle. I can’t imagine an opportunity to use cruise control on most British roads, as they are far too crowded. I have had a similar car experience and have a car that has all kinds of buttons on it that I never use. Somehow the buttons occasionally turn on. I finally found a button on my steering wheel that turns everything off. I used my red nail polish and marked it so that when that happens I can turn the annoying things OFF ! Another very lovely vlog! I enjoy them so much. I wish you and your mom a blessed and enjoyable Easter holiday! You mentioned once that your mom is an amputee. I have that in common with her. I think I must be about the same age as your mother, and I have been an amputee (both legs at the knee) since I was 3 years old because of a birth defect. I love both of you so much! You are such nice ladies and you know how to create alot of beauty in your lives, and share it with us! 😊❤

Whilst my Mum is missing a lot of the leg from cancer surgery, the surgeon was very fortunately able to avoid an amputation, but thank you so much for your very thoughtful and kind comment, Linda. You are obviously a very brave woman! Wishing you a very happy Easter! 💕 🐣

Hi Miranda, I laughed so hard when your Mom told her funny story about her car ! I totally understand her feeling of panic ! The Gilden Age is very enlighting, but to the fact that it is based in New York. I am from New York and love the history that the show portrays. Just like Downton Abby had so much history being portrayed. They both have similarities the fashion, history, and drama.

Hello! What a lovely box of delightful Easter and spring ornaments! I just found your channel today and have shared it with a kindred spirit friend who also loves cottagecore and books and all things British. Donna, the same thing happened to me years ago with the heretofore unknown cruise control function in my car suddenly turning on-and I had no idea what it was or what I had done. I was just totally freaked out since I was (ironically) highway driving at the time. Fortunately my passenger calmed me down and helped me figure it out, and I’ve been happily making use of it ever since. But every time I do I remember that panicky feeling.

This was such a lovely video 😍 it was a much needed break from the mammoth translation job I have at hand at the moment, which is taking all my time. I was also so glad to receive the newsletter and your gift, which I immediately downloaded but, due to this very pressing job, I haven’t even had a chance to look at... I can’t wait to get to it during a break in the next days! I totally fell in love with your beautiful Easter tree, which is not a tradition here in Italy, but it’s slowly gaining popularity and I’m hoping to finish collecting enough decorations to start my own tradition maybe next year. That little lamb scampering along at the start! ☺️ Hey, The Wind Boy! I read that around this time last year. I had ordered it secondhand and was delighted to find a hardcover came in the post even though I expected paperback. It has the same beautiful watercolour artwork as your edition. It definitely holds up as a light, fun read. It's full of magical realism; by the end, I was never 100% sure how much of the magic was real vs. embellished (i.e., the children's way of imbuing their world with wonder). If I had to compare its vibes to other children's classics, I'd liken it to Five Children & It, The Princess & the Goblin, and Pollyanna. You're in for a treat!

The same thing happened to me, Miranda. I remember reading a book about a girl that finds a crystal cave when I was in elementary school and I loved it! Unfortunately, I haven't had a brainwave about the title of the book lol. I am glad Donna remembered The Wind Boy and I hope you enjoy it as much as you did when you were a child.

Beautiful vlog , gorgeous country Spring scenes, music, Easter decor , delicious food and of course books. The Wind Boy is a beautiful book that will stand the test of time. My Grandmother and Mother looked for it for years, and it finally came out again. Brings back sweet memories.

Oh my gosh, you just made my day! I’ve been trying to remember the name of a lovely book with beautiful illustrations that I read as a child. When you decorated your egg tree, I realized that was the name. The Egg Tree! Thank you for the wonderful content. Happy Easter!
