    the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. kzread.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

    @@zambitiber1394 Some would others wouldn't. Some would use them, some would sell them for next to nothing, others would use them till they broke and then scrap them, still others would simply abandon them as they moved on because they are too heavy. I know this because I interact with the homeless community on nearly a daily basis. I have watched as they tossed food they got from the local soup kitchen/food bank because it was too much of a hassle to carry it back to the nearest homeless camp. Things that cost them nothing to acquire have no value to them and are quickly discarded or sold for cash.

    One thing I noticed was missing on all of them was a solar panel to wire into the bike to help keep it charged. With the small motors bikes have, a large panel on the camper would do a lot.

    There're a lot of badly optimised things in most of these campers, including heavy shelves that could've been elastic string/net holders, poor storage choices and high centres of gravity. 100% agree on the solar panel though, a huge missing step from most of these.

    A 2 to 3 person tent can be pitched in a few minutes. Plus, weight would not exceed 3kg. With panniers you can access more terrain, take more routes. A pannier setup would also be much lighter, more maneuverable and the range would be longer. These microcampers are basically heavy and stiff pitched tents. Great concept, looks cute and cozy but it doesn't seem to compute.

  • @BillOweninOttawa

    @BillOweninOttawa

    Жыл бұрын

    I just said the same. If someone has "trouble" pitching a tent they should probably stick to motels. We use a Burley flatbed and a Travoy. No need for a bike towed Winnebago! I could see these being fun for an overnighter, but otherwise they are pretty dumb and not a good solution.

  • @petiteange08

    @petiteange08

    The only advantage of microcampers that I can think of is when you move from one place to another and don't want to unpack each time (i.e. set up the bed and other stuff inside a tent), but most of those still require some unpacking so I don't see the point.

  • @marcinha1973

    @marcinha1973

    @@petiteange08 Yes, good point. And the terrain is failrly flat, the places you would like to go to are relatively nearby and you have lots of time. Perhaps also a long range electric bike with access to power for recharging.

    A lot of people in the US are already living like that, just carrying tents. It's really only ideal in perfect weather and places that allow overnight camping. Sadly, not too common here and doesn't solve the problem of giving the homeless an address, healthcare, or safety. Basically just a roof that moves..

    Seems like a tent would take up less room while offering the same benefit. To each his own. 😊

    Not the same benefit, unless you're being facetious. Many of these are trailers which carry luggage also, for example. Or these have a sturdier design. The myPod even had AC. Try and think it through a little next time ok?

    Love the video and content, I just wish you’d take more time on the insides so we can imagine utilizing the camper.

    Generally you can't actually go too far on an electric bike especially as you would be lugging a trailer behind you and not sure if a solar panel would be enough to charge your bike battery anyway so great idea but I really don't think so 🤔
