One of the few guys on KZread who really understands coyotes. You can catch a coyote 1 time on any bad , or misunderstood set, but to consistently catch coyotes takes a knowledge of the animal and a willingness to change from habit when a new habitat or area is not producing. That why skills in all types of sets and being proficient in them is important.

This has to be the best presentation on KZread about the details of setting for coyotes. I appreciate every minute of this video. I'll be watching more and more if you continue to post. It really brings to light why I have been catching a lot of young (and Dumb) Coyotes down here in Alabama. Thank you so much for the instruction. Now I can't wait to get more sets out, and fix some of my bad habits.

Good informational video. This is my 3rd year trapping and I'm going to try to get some coyotes this year. Your dirt hole set, the first one, is what I tried last year and only caught 2 reds. I'm to try your trench set and changing my hole angle to see if that is where I have been messing up

The black block is deadly. I find that laying it down vs standing it up works better. Way less avoidance. It was my hottest set last year here in Illinois. Keep up the great content. I need to get fired up before season!!

Ed I really enjoy all of your videos, but especially this one. It really brings mistakes we have all made to life. Please do more like this one. I only nuisance trap in Alabama. Oh how I wish for the big open fields. My coyote sets 90% of the time are filled with raccoons and possums before the dogs can get to them because they are being set in woods. Very frustrating.

great video on sets ,when would you use feathers or plucked rabbit fur as a visual attractant for coyotes ? i'm trying to find a way to pull a cat in also without making the paranoid coyote leave the property . big flashy flagged dirt holes scared them off and they avoided the property after i started using flags for the cats. i know that make a cat set or make a coyote set but a lot of farms may only have 1 or 2 good spots and both animals using the same natural funnels , i have been guilty of the v stick guiding , thanks for the tip .

For Bobcats you can Dirthole trap most of them. Add and use feathers only in cat areas and throw a few into the grass around your set to let coyotes sniff and check them out prior to working your set
